Let's talk about it.
Simply put, this was a bigger disappointment than the offense; we knew the offense was going to have trouble gelling. But the defense was even more galling, especially in things we seemed to have in hand (run defense, secondary) seemed to fly out the window. And they had a lot of trouble getting to Teddy Bridgewater. That first touchdown by Bridgewater, Ojulari just whiffed. Geez.
It’s incredible how well Pat Shumur is as an offensive coordinator.
Jones's fumble was unreal, but other than that I'm not sure what he could do.
We need to generate a pass rush or we will see more games like this

And that may be one of the weaker QBs they have to face all year...

Ive said this before and ill say it again now...I will never understand why a very good Offensive or Defensive Coordinator is automatically considered to be a great HC candidate and leader of men based on the success of their units. I always view the HC as an overseer of everything on the team, while the coordinators do what their title entails...coordinate the offense or defense. PS is obviously very good at that part, but not a very good option as an overseer of the whole shooting match.
This is what an offense looks like when you throw money and picks at skill players instead of the OL.
And overpay Williams.
The issue is scheme. Graham plays a very, very soft zone and Denver ran free all over the place. He did this last year as well but everyone said the secondary wasn't good enough to be aggressive. It is now....there simply isn't any excuse. They need more man coverage. Graham may not be the genius everyone thinks he is. It seems like their strategy is to keep everything short and force a mistake. But 20 short gains in a row add up to a lot of yardage.
This won't work. They have talent at all 3 levels of the secondary. Should we play prevent because our slot corner isn't great? Many teams are playing with garbage bin CB2s much less slot players.
This one is on the coach not the players. This unit has talent...the coach has to use it correctly.

They signed Solder to a huge contract and drafted 2 starters and one quasi starter in the 2020 draft, including a #4 overall pick, also drafted Hernandez. This take is bizarre.
Yeah I definitely noticed that they were held in check all game long and run defense was seriously lacking at times

If you think the take is “bizarre” you must work in the front office.
Today might have been the worst performance by a Giants defense (considering the opponent and opposing QB) I have seen in a long long time.
You're probably older than me and I didn't watch that game but at least that was a dynasty they played.

Last year's Niners backups' game was close. Actually had a worse QB that game.
It's a short week and they really have to get this OFF moving, have to start shooting for 20 a game so the DEF will hopefully have spent less time on the field and hopefully play with a lead for a change.
The secondary got shredded. There were numerous coverage problems and that inexcusable third down throw against the field completion in the third quarter pretty much ended the game right there.

1. This is what I don't like about the tactic of playing contain with the rushers; you give him enough time to throw by not getting up in his face, a quarterback will pick you apart.
2. How much of a running threat is Teddy Bridgewater?
3. Definitely expected more man coverage or at least better man coverage; isn't that why we got Adoree Jackson?
