Did you see the game Will Hernandez had yesterday?

cosmicj : 9/13/2021 6:28 am
I haven’t rewatched with a focus on the OL but I did repeatedly rewind to get an idea of Solder’s performance (it was poor) and when I did Hernandez many failures jumped out at me. He wasn’t getting push in the running game and was frequently getting abused in pass blocking. It looked like there were both mental mistakes and an inability to match the DL’s quickness.

This looks like his last year on the team.

I still can't get over Solder's performance on that von Miller sack. I don't think Nate even touched him.

When's the OL going to be 'fixed'? 2039? 2045? 2060?

Are people surprised? What has this OL showed us in the past two years that give Giants fans any glimmer of hope.

I'll state the obvious: NOTHING!
At the game

So not many replays but he looked very bad. The right side looked like a major issue.
The reports were positive on him at
Lines of Scrimmage : 9/13/2021 6:59 am : link
training camp. I thought when they moved him from LG to RG
it was his very last chance and that ideally they would like someone to beat him out. Dave said they liked some lineman in the draft that got picked and I suspect it was to compete with WH and probably replace.

Hopefully he improves and let's see what SY has to say in the review.

As bad as that rep was...Peart's was worse.

Peart v Miller should be made into a gif.

Still can’t believe our GM and coach
Metnut : 9/13/2021 7:16 am : link
watched this OL last year and thought “let’s get rid of Ziegler and I think it’ll be good enough.” I mean WTF?!? Did Judge think all they needed was an OL coach?
It's been a total failure regardless of who they put out there on the

right side of the line. and the awful play has been consistently bad for so long.
I blame arrogance

I’m sorry - we fixed it last year! Right? - only week one but how many
Bad teams of the last couple of years look like they’ve leapfrogged us again?
Let’s draft and sign receivers and cornerbacks ! Great idea
Our best lineman is an Udfa

How many bad teams MAY have leapfrogged us again ? WE WILL SEE SOON

Philly?
Bengals?
Denver? Ha
Panthers?
Houston? Maybe maybe not

At least there is Jacksonville AND ATLANTA
The scouting of OL in college by this organization

Leaves a lot to be desired. Aside from Jones, Dave’s inability to secure one solid long term answer along the OL during his time here will be what he is remembered for forever.
At least the run blocking was pretty consistent yesterday
chick310 : 9/13/2021 7:44 am : link
Consistently bad.

Non-Daniel Jones production in the rushing game was 14 carries for 33 yards, 2.4 avg, and a long run of 6.

The good news is the Kadarius Toney sweep plays seem to be classified as receptions in the ESPN Box Score, otherwise his two touches for -2 yards would negatively affect that robust team average.
It was a horrid

Team performance on the lines of scrimmage ! Only way to describe it
I can't believe people here thought it was good he was starting again
widmerseyebrow : 9/13/2021 8:40 am : link
This year. Nice guy, but he has been bad. Ironically enough I think the "Geoff Schwartz only sucks because he's playing on the wrong side" crowd lauded the move.

Player scholarships did not end when Reese was fired.
We
AcidTest : 9/13/2021 9:46 am : link
could have followed Sy's advice and drafted Braden Smith.
Hernandez is fine. He'll bounceback to his 2018 days
Jimmy Googs : 9/13/2021 9:49 am : link
any time now. Solder should also bounceback to 2015.

And if Peart stops falling asleep during the snapcount, we have a future Jonathan Ogden on our hands.

Patience with that right side...

I think the ball was snapped early on the Peart sack. None of our lineman moved.

MOOPS : 9/13/2021 12:04 pm : link
That is 100% correct. Peart was especially slow out of his stance, but Gates snapped it early.
On another look, you guys are right
shyster : 9/13/2021 12:27 pm : link
Judging by the reaction of the entire line, Gates snapped it early.

Schlereth should have picked that up instead of dumping it all on Peart and encouraging the viewing world to do the same.

Still can criticize Peart for not being alert to the possibility that can happen but does ameliorate the sin.
