the giants are set up to fail and boy do they fail

GiantsFan84 : 9/13/2021 9:50 am
they are deficient, and significantly deficient, at 3 main areas on offense. coordinator, QB, and offensive line. you cannot win like this. you need to be good to very good in at least 1 of the 3 to have any chance.

a great coordinator can maximize the talent of the offense and make crappy players look good. look no further than shurmur. while i didn't love his actual play-calling, his offensive design was a million times better than the Clapper. he had inferior WRs, a crappy line, and the same crappy QB, and the offense was not awful.

a good QB can make a bad coordinator and line look better than they are by adjusting things at the line pre-snap and can extend plays and make the right reads and know when and how to take chances. daniel jones does none of these things.

a good line can make both a bad QB and bad coordinator look good by providing so much time and just moving people in the run game that bad play calls end up looking good.

the giants have none of these things and honestly have no chance on offense. and the worst part of this team sucking so much is they don't even put out a good product to watch. there is losing and there is complete ineptitude. the giants are boring and predictable and honestly unwatchable when they are on offense.

and joe judge does not get a pass for the Clapper. i don't care if mara forced him on judge or not. he is the head coach of this team. he does not get a free pass for the offense while he is the head coach.

one other final thought. this team seems too focused on not turning the ball over and forgot that you actually have to score points to win games.

that doesn't mean shit. how have the recent high draft picks worked out? thomas, barkley, and jones are all top 10 picks. we had a premium pick this year that we turned into toney and unknown picks next year
You would never know that we have been picking at the top

of the Draft all these years and using it on Offense.

what are we doing?

I’ve made the same point about Judge

Garrett answers to him. He approves the offensive plan. He’s got options with Kitchen to change up the offense. And, on the other hand, we’ve seen Garrett’s offense other places and it looked nothing like we do. And I’m not sure you don’t need two of the three things in the OP to be successful.
Imagine watching this game and thinking we need to harp on the offense

The defense was atrocious yesterday and they have a ton of talent. Whats their excuse?

Was the offense good? Fuck no it wasn't, but its hard to get in a rythm on offense when you don't have a good OL and you are sitting on the bench ten minutes at a time. Thos are the facts. Look at what happened to the Packers yesterday.

they scored 7 fucking points! 7! and last year they were next to last in scoring while the packers were first. do not compare the giants offense to the packers
This giants defense

Is offensive! They made teddy look like he should be wearing a gold jacket…..over the past ten years opposing punters spend most of the game on the sidelines, getting pedicures……depressing, and 16 more thank you may I have another…games to go.
The giants offensive struggle has to be an organization problem right?
shadow_spinner0 : 9/13/2021 12:33 pm : link
It's been a thing since 2016 with a different GM, and different coaches. 2016 was when our offense collapsed and it seemed we couldn't move the ball and score. I remember back in 2014 and 2015 Giants were able to move the ball down the field and score points. Starting in 2016 we can't move the ball or score at all. Why is that. It has to be a organizational philosophy right? No matter what coaches we bring in, what front office guys we bring in, no matter what players we draft and sign, our offense stays the same.

Even blind squirrels find a nut sometimes.

I am not sure why I said that because I love Gettleman. But, Football is not a sport that happens overnight like for instance Basketball.

Draft Picks (working out) - nobody ever really knows. 6 round picks end up in the HOF and first rounders are out of the league in 3 years, Coaching and recognizing what your talent is and adjusting to what is in front of you, and injuries/lucky breaks .... everything has to line up in the NFL universe perfectly and that equals a championship.

I really thing it is a LOT harder than most people realize.
Hiring Garrett wasn't a huge mistake

It seemed logical at the time I and I believe this board were mostly thrilled with it. Not firing him after last season was inexcusable. There's just no reason he should be back there. I don't care how many systems Jones has to learn. Learning a really shitty system won't do anyone any good.
