I think that this is a major issue. Can't believe that with a few simple google searches i was able to locate Garrett's playbook online. To no one's surprise, its right out of the 80s:
Regardless, I can't believe he didnt even try pass 2 yesterday.
This is actually the Giants OG tecmo bowl playbook. I can't believe Garrett still running all curls. The dumbest part is he uses it vs man coverage. The difference the schemes yesterday was startling. Moving from Shurmur's concepts to Garretts has been a complete and utter failure. "Coach" needs to go.
RE: Hey, there's that all curls play he keeps calling!
I was in 323 yesterday and it is truly startling watching it in person. His offensive scheme is all buttonhooks and weird fades where the corners can just use the sideline as another defender. Its embarrassingly bad.
But there is no question Garrett's offense looks like horse shit. Meanwhile Kellen Moore has Dak throwing for 400 yards as their new minimum. Yeesh.
For the LOVE OF GOD let Judge decide what to do with the offense.
No mettling owner or GM BS. If Judge wants Garrett out and Kitchens in SO BE IT... We've complained about half measures killing this franchise for years, this feels like an owner imposed "addition measure". Half assed with disconnected results all the same.
We all saw the flashes with DJ in Shurmur's system... and then we saw Teddy Bridgewater have flashes in Shurmur's system yesterday. Garrett's archaic offense is a problem. Give the kid a chance in something modern.

I think it’s a matter of “when” it happens, not “if”.
I love Judge, but let's not let him entirely off the hook here! He's the HC & after last season, he could have told Mara(No doubt,Garrett was a Mara "suggestion"!) that he wanted to move on from Garrett & either go to Kitchens or someone else. He didn't,he opted for continuity of the offense, but unfortunately,Garrett continuity just means the same old shit!!!
judges first big test is figuring this out - and it was never more apparent than yesterday watching the same things as last year on one side, and the guy who made danny dimes look good make a journeyman in his first freaking game with the team look good on the other side.
It's clear that the owner pushed for Jason Garrett. Dont know if Judge has the clout to send him packing
My hope is that JJ doesn't have to send Garrett packing, just re-assigned to another position. There's got to be something useful he can do without the drama of firing him. But it's looking like he's got to have the playcalling taken from him.
Fassel didn't fire Sean Payton; just took playcalling duties from him (and Payton moved on after the season). I think that's the better way to go w/ someone like Garrett.

Maybe.
But we don't know if his hands have been tied either.
Many lambast Gettleman here but evidence suggests him and Shurmur's hands being tied in by attempting to make Eli work one last time too.
Ownership needs to stay TF out of football decisions. They are ruining this franchise.
There is the tail wagging the dog.... Then there is what the NY Giants have which is worse. It's rotting this team from the inside out before any roots are allowed to flourish. Enough is enough.

Better be sooner than later.
I don't think anyone on this site believes that Garrett is someone Judge would have hired. That makes this situation disgusting to me....
The Giants owners are as two-faced as they come. Here's this bright intelligent up and coming head coach... "Oh welcome to the NY Giants, we wish you all the best! Oh by the way here are your handcuffs named Jason Garrett. He's a great guy! Irish Catholic. Former head coach. We know he'll help you and you'll make it work, good luck!"
Give Judge his OWN staff... and his OWN GM... and for that matter his OWN QB. People on the same god damn page. Then evaluate the results. Otherwise how the F do you clearly understand if the OC or GM or the QB variables aren't fucking over Judge from the get go.
The owners need to be schooled in how to run accurate experiments. The key is removing the variables where you can, but all they ever do is add variables in that convolute and confuse the situation. It's the height of idiocy.

Like we saw with Lewis, Fewell, Gilbride and Sheridan, Mara will can coordinators as a reaction to a bad season. If at the end of the year, the Giants are still a bottom tier offense I expect Garrett will be the next sacrificial lamb.

While I agree that Giants ownership is a problem, Gettleman didn't HAVE to take the job if he didn't like the directive from ownership.
Fact is - this is the last job he's ever going to have in football, so he either took it despite knowing the plan was flawed, or he believed in it.
Either way, it's pathetic and the entire process that resulted in his hiring was absurd.
Which brings up another problem - who the hell would take the Giants GM position without knowing they would have complete autonomy to run the football operations? Anybody with any pride is going to demand it, and they should.

100%. The all 22 tape is basically my view. It will be completely embarrassing.

He’s saving that for week 11 ;)
