Multiple conversations about our GM, OC, & QB.
Why does Joe continue to get a break? He talks a really good game. Teachers for coaches, it’s a process, building a foundation etc. Post game last night about the fans deserve better…everything sounds good out of mouth. In leadership 101 these are all activities. Activities are supposed to get you results. Yesterday I didn’t see anything different then opening day last year. How long does the process take becomes the bigger ?
We didn’t score 35 points yesterday and lose. We scored 7 and a charity score. I thought Judge was the answer but at this point I am not sure. Then couple it with no Belichick disciples ever succeeded at the next level UGH.
Who exactly on this 200 person coaching staff understands how to counter opposing NFL teams? Maybe if we play Auburn we can make a game of it.
This year needs to start showing tangible results. Yesterday was not it. It is right to be a little skeptical because the coaching overall still seems to be part of the problem, but he deserves to be evaluated more fully closer to the end of the season than the beginning.
Its a big indictment on Judge that the team looked as lost as it did. The challenge flag gaffe on what was a clear TD was the kind of clueless shit that got Shurmur laughed out of the room.
Remember that Mara hired Judge as his second choice after it was clear Rhule would cost too much.
Too conservative,
Too predictable. e.g. fake fourth down attempt on 4th and 17.
Too much emphasis on special teams.
Field position and ST does not win in today's NFL.
That said, he's done enough to deserve the chance to show that yesterday was just a bad game.
If they aren't the real deal, they could absolutely be worse than they were in year 1. The NFL now has a book on them. Those late-season drubbings by AZ, CLE & BAL were good places to start. Giants vaunted D couldn't stop any of them.
That’s all that needs to be said about him
If the offense is bad, it's not just Garrett but it gets to the top. Eventually you have to take responsibility and move on.
All criticism is valid until the team starts winning.
But to render judgement that he needs to go after one game is not fair.

You mean Thursday; the Giants' next game is Thursday.

I think it's true, at some point you have to look at the record. I am stuck on 1-7 first half last year, 5-3 second half, but right now 0-1 this year. At some point the arrow has to start pointing up. I don't want to over-react to one game, but it some point it's put up or go away for this organization. You can blame the personnel, the OC, or whoever you want. At some point everyone is accountable. Let's see how the next few games go. Not much margin for error
I m one of those that believed in Judge.....still do.
Remember that Mara hired Judge as his second choice after it was clear Rhule would cost too much.
This is BS. Rhule never left the Carolina building. He wasn’t the Giants first choice or any choice at all. And by then they had interviewed Judge and he had became the front runner.

I agree with this as well. One game in and on the hot seat. OK
If it was just Judge that made those two OLs retire they could have signed with someone else.

That is incorrect.
Rhule was set to fly to NJ to interview, called Mara and told him Tepper made him a 7 million dollar offer, and if he was willing to match that, he'd still come in for the interview. Mara balked at that so Rhule never got on the plane.
It was after that that Judge became the front runner.
I just can't with this place sometimes.

That’s not how it works. The interviewee doesn’t set the price before interview. That’s the same as saying you not coming. No one would accept those terms for an interview. That’s nuts.
I am not ready to declare him a mistake.

Agree. Just because Rhule was scheduled to come in for an interview doesn't indicate he was the first choice. The only fact we know is that they were scheduled to interview him as well as others, including Judge.

Yea whatever. It's a moot point now but that's what happened. Probably Rhule knew that Mara wouldn't offer him anywhere near seven mil a year so told him what the offer was as a courtesy so he wouldn't waste his or Mara's time.
Mara made the offer to Judge because he liked him and didn't want to lose him to Mississippi State after it was clear they weren't willing to get Rhule at that price.
But Rhule was the favorite. Asshats on here had said as much.
The fact that he was scheduled to come in and interview does not indicate he was the favorite. That just isn't how facts work.

But Rhule was the initial favorite. Asshats on here said as much. I think Gettleman maybe wanted Rivera but the Giants waited til after the last game to fire Shurmur so weren't able to get an early start on their search.
as much as i grew to hate mcadoo and shurmur, i don't think their offenses ever looked as bad as what we've seen last year and yesterday under judge and garrett.
GoTerps said that Judge cannot be fairly evaluated until Gettleman, Garrett, Jones, and Barkley are all off the team. So apparently he thinks it's a good idea? I don't disagree but I'm not sure it ever gets to that point.
I'm pissed and disappointed in him but that's mostly what he said. He brought up some positives, but you need to keep some semblance of morale. If your boss shit on you after a bad day at work it wouldn't help.
Was, rinse, repeat.
Look, we will find out about him for sure this year. Its easy to lead when you win, how will his team respond after a loss. What will this team look like towards the end of the season. I am certainly not ready to proclaim him the problem after 1 game his 2nd season.
As far as his coaches go, he has a lot of coaches with nfl experience...Garrett, Graham, Tolbert, Flaherty, Henderson, McGaughey
+1
No experience as a head coach at any level. Never an offensive or defensive coordinator at the pro level. Being a good interviewee and Belichick's buddy should not qualify you to become head coach of the NY giants.
