Did JJ forget rule on all scoring plays being reviewable?

SFGFNCGiantsFan : 9/13/2021 7:18 pm
His post game answer as to why he threw the challenge flag didn't really seem to be on the level. I was listening to The Giants Insider Podcast & Jerry just came out & said he thought Judge forgot the rule & blanked. I didn't really consider that because it doesn't comport with JJ's style of being on top of everything, but it sounds possible.

Your thoughts?

Still 24 hours...incredibly dumb.
So what if he did?

No coach is perfect. Besides, with the replay changes made seemingly every year, I wouldn't fault any coach for having a lapse in the heat of the moment.

Replay should not be a system in which we are now penalizing coaches and teams. I couldn't think of anything more stupid. The NFL replay system has gotten bigger than its intended application which is a bad thing.

I know a bunch of people will not start bailing on Judge too but he's going to win here. You can't hate the QB, the GM, the roster and everything about the team and then think the coach is trash if he doesn't win right away. Something has to give.
I dont think he did

I think the play was so close that it should have been reviewed automatically but it wasn’t. Being in the stadium you could hear the crowd grow louder and louder as Denver got close to snapping the ball. You could feel the entire stadium yelling “DO SOMETHING” even if it wasn’t being said.

I think Judge might have gotten nervous with the crowd at fever pitch… you could feel the collective anxiety of 80k people. I also think the refs were blowing him off and he wanted their attention. Regardless the play should have been automatically reviewed and it wasn’t. I dont fault Judge for doing something to get the refs freaking attention.
I blame whoever was in charge of the video screens for this one

They repeatedly showed replays where it looked like he was out of bounds and it fired up the crowd. Then Judge threw the flag and they finally showed the replay where you can see the green between his foot and the sideline.

I'd fire whoever was in charge of those boards. They influenced the crowd and probably influenced Judge. Really shitty job.

JJ said EXACTLY that in the post game interview. He knew the rule and manned up that it was a horrible mistake to throw it but his emotions got the best of him when the refs didn't appear to pay attention to his protests.
Listen to his postgame

He said that he was frustrated that the refs were not being communicative. Said that he knew the rule and it was a mistake of frustration. Said that the penalty was his fault and told the team so.
I find it hard to believe that Judge didn’t know the rule.

Wanting to talk to the refs doesn’t make much more sense, but I have to think Judge thought they wouldn’t ding him a time out.
No.

He knew exactly what he was doing. Will he ever do it again? No.
