Is this a one time thing or every week now?

I believe they are doing 10 Monday Night games.

Wow nice. And through 2023 too I just read.

Will be cool if a scheduled one is the Giants/Bucs this year.

Except in January.
I'm enjoying

Ray Lewis' contribution. Good stuff
Eli has a future in broadcasting
Canton : 9/13/2021 9:29 pm : link
I love it
Bringing up Eli's rookie game vs the Ravens with Ray Lewis
Stu11 : 9/13/2021 9:30 pm : link
Was hilarious. What Eli should do is show our rushing stats vs him in the 2008 game when we stuck them for about 350.
I am a homer
Bergen346 : 9/13/2021 9:31 pm : link
But Eli is way better than Peyton. Much better tempo, funny and adding value with his breakdowns. Eli really show how freaking smart he was when he was under center.
Them talking about poor

Kyle Boller 🤣🤣🤣
I think it's great

It's clearly not ironed out yet but man do they know football.

That was funny, but very insightful. I could see guys like Lewis and Reed shaking their own QB’s confidence on the practice field.
It'd be sobering to hear what Peyton and Eli would say
CT Charlie : 9/13/2021 9:45 pm : link
about our offensive play design and play calling.
Having a defensive
crick n NC : 9/13/2021 9:47 pm : link
Player like a Ray Lewis giving the perspective of the defense really works well.
I think ESPN might have

found something with this. I'd watch these guys for any game. Instead of the bullshit talking heads....you actually get some substance.

I totally agree. You can see Eli really watching the game and the wheels turning. Not that Peyton isn't either, but Eli just has a better rhythm and more concise delivery. He's excellent.

Yeah I’m guessing Eli/Peyton will routinely get higher ratings than the regular MNF crew. They should probably limit the guests to football guys though - Barkley didn’t really fit.

This is great!

It’s like watching a game I don’t care about with a bunch of my friends. You watch the game and talk some football and talk some yawk. I love this.
I was actually kind of thinking
Leg of Theismann : 9/13/2021 10:04 pm : link
Ray would fit right in as a 3rd guy. He’s literally just the defensive version of the Manning’s cerebrally. That 2nd quarter was hugely entertaining with the 3 of them. It’d be cool if he were added as a fairly regular guest at least.

I'm loving this, thanks for the heads up
montanagiant : 9/13/2021 10:07 pm : link
The knowledge they are spouting is stuff you don't really hear during a broadcast.

It also needs to be taken into account that the main broadcast has a multitude of spotters and statisticians feeding them info. Eli and Peyton are doing this off the cuff
Peyton talking
crick n NC : 9/13/2021 10:08 pm : link
About the importance of training camp for your qb and receivers especially knowing their tendencies against zone

I have to say I always thought the play-by-play guy was entirely pointless. Like, why do we need a guy to tell us the ball was snapped and handed off every single play? We can literally see it right in front of us. And if something needs to be communicated to the viewers the color guy(s) can tell us that. I know sometimes you wanna know who caught a pass or made a tackle that play, but couldn’t that just be summed up in a little play by play ticker at the bottom that just says the name of the guy who had the ball and who made the tackle (for those interested)? I feel like this could revolutionize football “announcing”.

Yep, radio needs play by play guys. TV, not so much

These guys know so much. That was great with Ray Lewis! When I was in HS the team would get together and watch the weekend games at the house of the school’s former head coach who was retired but still lived just off campus. It was great because we’d get a little film study and call out plays and just have some fun. With the internet the NFL can absolutely make some of these innovations in broadcasting. How much would you pay to get Peyton and Eli and Ray Ray every week? I love it.
Man Lamar is exciting
GNewGiants : 9/13/2021 10:19 pm : link
But he makes so many errant passes - like not even close. He has missed about 6-7 wide open guys tonight.

This is what bites him in the playoffs.
I like it if they got back to the game

This is fantastic. It is so much better than listening to the regular commentators. I love hearing the inside perspective of the Mannings as the game is happening, but I also love hearing the stories that they’re telling. Ray Lewis was fantastic as well.
This is the best

Monday night game ive watched in years.

The commentary is perfect

I would usually would be asleep by now.

Did you guys hear Kelce
allstarjim : 9/13/2021 10:40 pm : link
Dropping the expletives? LOL...if they were on a delay they didn't catch it.
This is the way MNF should be
Mike from Ohio : 9/13/2021 10:46 pm : link
This is 1,000 times better than the eukaryotic broadcast.

Lewis and Kielce were both very good guests. Loving this format.

About being nervous for tonight because he was about to share the broadcast with a guy who used to give him wedgies?

Eli is hilarious on Twitter.
Still time to go...
bw in dc : 9/13/2021 10:56 pm : link
but I have been impressed with the the Raiders D. They've done a nice job getting pressure on LJax, keeping him in the pocket, and tackling him.
The sequence with Wilson as the guest
Canton : 9/13/2021 11:05 pm : link
Eli calling the big play and now breaking it down .

I can watch this every week like this. And they are going to get better once they get into a groove. ESPN finally got something right .
Eli is Romo-esque

Calling the play lol
Can't wait to see the ratings split...
bw in dc : 9/13/2021 11:07 pm : link

Wilson is their third guy

SO if the Raiders come back and win this
montanagiant : 9/13/2021 11:12 pm : link
Do we blame Lamar because of the fumble he just had?
Is that some kind of complaint
santacruzom : 9/13/2021 11:15 pm : link
That a reality-based Jones is held to a different standard than a hypothetical Jackson?
Russell Wilson
