The Giants ran the ball 20 times and threw the ball 37 times. That comes to running the ball 35% of the time.
To put that into some context, for the entire NFL Week One, teams ran the ball 41% of the time, with 22 teams rushing the ball more often than the Giants (on a percentage basis.)
Question:
Did the Giants go into the game with the idea that they would emphasize the passing game; or, once they fell behind, they turned away from the run game? Or, something else.
Your thoughts, comments much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
With that being said, they should take a look at what Dallas did in a game like this. Based on how the game unfolded, I thought they should have been more aggressive passing on early downs instead of running into a wall, and constantly being in third and long.
1 sack
1 run (Jones td)
It wasn't in the gameplan to be down three scores.
The only successful runner at all against those guys was Jones. He is fast and had room to run….the only one. Too bad he fumbled one time.
When you have guys like Golladay and Shepherd, you can trust both of them. U fortunately, I think Rudolph is done, so why aren’t we playing Kaden Smith? Makes no sense to me.
It’s also hard to keep running it when your running game is doing nothing
QB=biggest weapon in running game 2 years straight.
