going to the game as a season ticket holder, there were tons of seats for sale by the season ticket holders. The reason I say that, beyond all the orange jerseys (which opposing teams coming into the stadium are just a reality now as people try to recoup the PSL costs and/or cut their losses), has to do with the parking passes.
The traffic getting into the Stadium was nuts on Sunday. I come in off Route 17 and over Paterson Plank. In the past you used to go into the entrance towards the race track & if you didn't have a parking pass, they would turn you around close to the ticket booths. Every year I shake my head at this because parking passes have been around now I think something like 15 years at this point. Anyway, this time they stopped cars before getting into the entrance on Paterson Plank (which is good). But that held up so much traffic until I was able to weave in and get waived in by security. I got to the lot behind the track and it was near empty around 3:15 PM. Normally it would be full.
So that means most fans sold their seats but people didn't get the parking passes. I'm very curious to see how the Atlanta game goes with Eli's ceremony. I'd figure it will be filled with Giants fans for that one, but we'll have to see. It was also a younger crowd than usual that I saw at the Denver game. Normally the old timers are there for the season opener in good weather, so I think the virus concerns had a lot to do with it.
COVID was the issue, I'm sure. Not that many Denver fans, I thought but I haven't been to a game in 2 years. Obviously, lots of Giants fans left early.

19 million dollar question... I suspect they offer him the QO
as far as opposing fans, it wasnt any more than we usually see at games, it just becomes more noticeable at the end of every home game, when the opponent is clearly going to win the game.
I go to every home game and i can tell you that i'm sick and tired of watching opposing teams fans celebrate in the Meadowlands
a massive crowd outside of the west gates awaiting entry, and the stadium was unusually empty at kickoff. Anecdotally it seemed like a bigger crowd than usual at that time. I wonder if people were having trouble with their electronic tickets?
The stadium filled in during the first quarter like it usually does, but it was nowhere near a packed house.

Just want to say I got stuck in that too. The 17 to Paterson Plank entrance has been how I've gone in for 5 or 6 years and was always super easy. This last week was super frustrating because they stopped every car, making sure you had a parking pass. I think the lots were empty around 3:15 because people who used this entrance usually leave later, and they didn't expect to be stuck in traffic. Thank goodness I left super early.

I sit in the second row of the upper deck, seats 13 and 14 and every seat to my left was empty. I don't think I've seen that before.
And I agree about other teams' fans -- I'm really not looking forward to the Dallas and Philly games. We had one obnoxious Denver fan in our section and that was plenty.
Remember where. But, I seen advertisements for Giants season tickets. Never use to see that. I remember when their was a waiting list to ver 30 thousand . I guess PSL has a lot to do with this.
I didn't see a large number of empty seats from my perch in sec 229

I was caught in that traffic as well on Patterson Plank. And I was there before 1:00 PM. Part of the problem was some had the parking pass on their phone, not a hard copy or printed, and they were being sent away. But I saw multiple times the driver not move and argue with security, holding up his phone. People do not read before they leave.

Well, I can only hope people have learned or they stop the check, because this is my go to.
RE: I didn't see a large number of empty seats from my perch in sec 229
and people in our section was saying they were having trouble getting to their tickets on their phone..
I thought it was pretty full from vantage point, crowd was pretty loud to..
There was definitely some empty seats, but my first thought was covid
They also stink. I've been to enough games over the past 3-4 years to say I learned my lesson. My days of going to games at Toilet Stadium are behind me.
Yes there were some empty seats up top. Have been for several years. Lower level and Mezz. where I sit were pretty packed and the crowd for the 1st half was as loud as I have heard it in years. 2nd half a different story. I have a panaoramic view from my seats in the lower Mezz and did not see a ton of Broncos fans. Maybe more up top?
As stated, getting to the lots from RT 17 and Paterson Plank Rd. was a shitshow. Took me nearly 2 hours from Biggies on Rt17 (not more than 2 miles away) to get to lots. Cops had no clue how to direct traffic. I asked 2 of them and each one shrugged.
section 126 was ok not too many empty seats but i don't blame anyone for not wanting to come.
first off no one was wearing a mask. maybe 2% of the fans wore masks. vaccinated or not theres 70k+ at the stadium during a pandemic. i would think more people would be cautious.
2nd, you get nothing going to the game. the team sucks, the atmosphere is shot. it got loud maybe 3 times. they started "lets go defense" chants in the 4th when the game was done.
PSL's ruined the game experience. we bought tickets off a guy who had season tickets a few weeks before the game. we could've got better tickets before the game for half the price.
3.Covid fears high in NYC area
2.Parking and time getting out of stadium after the game
1.Enertainment has in my opinion priced itself out of a lot of people's budgets. I will not go to sporting events other than baseball and I will not go to Broadway or most concerts.
Remember where. But, I seen advertisements for Giants season tickets. Never use to see that. I remember when their was a waiting list to ver 30 thousand . I guess PSL has a lot to do with this.
Tbere hasn't been a waiting list since the new stadium opened. There's a lot more capacity and PSLs seem to be a hard sell. I considered giving up my tickets and just buying games I want to go to the week of. So many good tickets on the secondary markets.
In the end, these were my dad's tickets and I don't want to give them up. If my son decides he doesn't care, then off they go.
First time they had this kind of crowd in 20 months.
Everything was a shit show, and I would guess tons of concession and other staff were new.
This was the most traffic I have seen still entering the stadium when I was walking in. Guessing some folks wouldn't have gotten to their seats until late 2nd quarter. Guessing some people left in the 3rd. Some people probably didn't come due to covid.
Despite their public portion, I am also guessing the Giants game people a pass for the year if they made a stink.
This year the Giants have advertised seasons tickets
and game tickets to a greater extent than they have at any time in the past.
I am going to make a leap here, but I would have no trouble concluding that there are a bunch of season ticket holders that decided not to re-up these last two years.
Can't speak as to the crowd size, but an awful lot of Denver fans from what I saw on TV.
Then again, Metlife sucks. I went once & that's enough for me. No feel whatsoever. And truth be told...I'd rather watch the game @ home or a bar & not have to shell out $15 dollars for a beer/bathroom lines/getting there & home/weather/etc.

Next home game I go to is a playoff one. That might be 2077 at the rate this ass juice team is going.

been to the new stadium three times.. it sucks been to ATT it's a palace . Giants season tickets used to be like gold the Giants killed that feel with PSL greed no going back shame tickets used to be cherishes heirlooms
Empty seats.
NY being NY there are always opponents fans at games, so many people from all over the country live in the Metro area....
If they want to fill up the stadium, the solution is simple. Win.
Dan...what are the Mets going to do with Conforto?
From my own personal experience last month, I visited CT/NY and saw a lot more people wearing masks and avoiding crowded areas.
Out West or during my trip to South Florida, not so much.

I certainly will wear a mask to the ATL game, which I think I will be going to.
I'll go to a game with you.

Yeah, I didn’t notice a sea of empty seats. I did notice that there must be more Broncos fans in this area than I thought.
especially in the middle of the 3rd quarter - the 2:00 minute warning.
