It’s no great referendum on the season or Giants when they do, but there’s no chance on a short week, with a guy with 1 career start, 92 career attempts, who went to Old Dominion, at QB the Giants don’t destroy WFT.
This is as much of a lock as any game on the calendar for any team before January.
No jinx. This is exactly what the football doctors ordered.
I’d don’t think WFT scores honestly. This is a perfect reset game.
If Jones has confidence against anyone, it’s surely Washington. He has had some nice outings versus them in first two years. Saquon too.
Feel good about yourself type of game...
If our defense shoes up looking like they did vs Denver, I’m not sure we could beat ATL, let alone WFT. Although I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for one more game.
The quick Thursday night turnaround will either be a killer nail in the coffin or the perfect shot of adrenaline. Week two (but really Week 1.5). Crazy.
I certainly believe the Giants are pretty bad, but there is no way a team starting a guy with this in his bio: In addition, he was a reserve quarterback for the St. Louis BattleHawks of the XFL during its lone season in 2020. — wins a division game on a four day week.
Right?

What? Herbert had a few bumps and the refs helped out WFT plenty, but he still had his way with their LBs and secondary when he needed to.
And Herbert is only a second year guy, while Jones is in his third and played them more frequently...
They have been really bad at putting things away.
Don’t get it twisted I don’t believe that today’s woes are related in anyway to five years ago.
But they have struggled consistently forever… add truly putting things away.

I've seen your reasonable and realtiy-based posts and debates with aggressive optimists, so it's hard for me to believe you see this game as a literal lock.

Dude looked decent last week and surprisingly good in the playoff game last year. Hopefully we keep beating backups. I know it used to be this teams kryptonite

Like 15 years ago. Come on, no one is even around from those days.
In fact, facing backup QBs have been our sweet spot during DGs reign. I think about 10 of the 15 wins have come against backups in the last 3 years!

If the WFT d-line plays against our o-line like they did against LAC, our line doesn’t give Jones enough time to get the ball anywhere. Add Garrett’s abysmal run calls, and I think it’s a very tough day for the Giants offense.

Herbert has more talent in his pinky than DJ will ever have.
I had this as a loss before the season started, but with a XFL QB on 4 day prep, the Giants win a low scoring affair.
If the Giants lose this game, they only have 2 winnable games (ATL and CAR) through the next 6...likely a 2-6 start, at best. The fanbase/media will be calling for heads to roll.
It's only week 2...but this is a must win game!
But plenty of twists and turns to come this year, especially in a division like the NFCE. One game down in the division in Sept can be overcome...
AND YOU GOT SMOKED!
He's a gamer. Whichever team establishes the run will win.

If he was capable of giving Tampa Bay a game, he's capable of beating the Giants. Any offense could've moved the ball at will on our horrible defense Sunday.
They might win, but they are not "Smoking" them
I think WFT has shown that they can basically plug any pile of crap into their offense and it will produce about 20 points/game. Where they are probably screwed is coming from behind big.
As long as WFT D can keep them in the game they have chance. The only hope I have of a blowout is if they re-sign Haskins and he repeats his 3 INT game from 2019.
Barkley 189 yards and a TD
and
Jones 352 yard and 5 TDs
WFT has three days to prep with a backup QB, who has barely played in the NFL.
He had an improbably competent playoff performance, and then couldn’t beat out Fitzgerald for a starting gig.
This is the type of guy you feast on after a short week.

More importantly, how is our O going to do vs their D? Their front 7 is going to be a challenge for our line, so how does Garrett game plan for that? More BS end arounds to Toney?
My hope is they start getting the ball to guys in space.
I’m about as bearish on this team as anyone on BBI, but this should be a pretty easy win.

lol dude the redskins are probably better than Denver on paper.
This is a get right game for the Giants defense.

the giants are the get right game for every team in the nfl

You’re confident the OL will hold up against that defensive front?
The Giants O, currently doesn't scare anyone, and the WFT has a good D.
No, the Giants aren't going to go down to Washington and smoke the team. They will be lucky to win by 1 point. WFT is at least as good as the Giants, and probably better.
That's the narrative until something changes. Give me an effing break with the "we're gonna smoke somebody" nonsense. The feel good crap with this team is officially over, there is nowhere to hide.
But while Jones looked decent there in 19 with 5td, Garrett’s offense is so poor I cannot expect the same, this scheme grounds the offense into a bottom unit.
Offensively i hope they add some read options to slow down the pass rush a little bit, the oline played pretty well against a good front in denver passing wise, hopefully that continues, cant let Chase Young get a strip sack that changes momentum
Giants will need to make a few plays on Offense but the D should be able to handle Heiny to the tune of a few ints.
A close win, but a win.
This for sure.
Heinicke has skills. He's very mobile and can make plays off script. In that playoff game against Tampa last year, he threw for 300+ and rushed for 50. The Tampa D.
I'm completely the other way on this. I liked our chances much better against FitzTragic. Heinicke is a wild card in this game...

Those fans have seemingly disappeare; similar to the Daniel Jones supporters. Where are they?
Barkley 189 yards and a TD
and
Jones 352 yard and 5 TDs
I guess that depends on whether or not everyone on WFT's defense is out and they sign 3 DBs off the street to start the game like they did in 2019.

Don't just read the back of his "football card". This kid is pretty good. He's mobile, competitive and has enough arm to get it done.
Puhleeze...fans of the Giants have no business being cocky.
This is a get right game for the Giants defense.
You say that like the Giants offense was much better, lol
