It’s no great referendum on the season or Giants when they do, but there’s no chance on a short week, with a guy with 1 career start, 92 career attempts, who went to Old Dominion, at QB the Giants don’t destroy WFT.
This is as much of a lock as any game on the calendar for any team before January.
Christian is a smart guy. There’s zero chance he thinks the Giants should win this game by simply showing up. There is a motive behind this…
Giants 7
Haha man there will be blood if the game turns out that way.

WFT put up 260 yards, 16 points, and was 3/10 on third down.
This is a get right game for the Giants defense.
You say that like the Giants offense was much better, lol
They were both bad, the defense was more disappointing.
There is every bit of motivation for NYG to come out with something to prove. Question is, are they good enough to do anything about it. At this point, I'm not confident they are. WFT defense is too good and our offense has too many weaknesses in foundational areas --Oline and QB. The defense is good, but what we saw last year was a lot of scheme covering up for things. IMO, they aren't as good as most of us thought they were outside of these pass rushers step it up. And the middle of the field on defense, just like the Oline on Offense, remains an unsolvable problem for us.
We'll see what happens, I guess. My advice--? Temper your expectations, there be storms in the forecast.
GTFO. It's a division game on the road between 2 mediocre teams. Literally anything can happen.
If he was capable of giving Tampa Bay a game, he's capable of beating the Giants. Any offense could've moved the ball at will on our horrible defense Sunday.
Sure, if our D is going to continue to play like they did Sunday, it's going to be a long, awful year, but we have to hope that they get their act together. I'm not going to close the book on them after one bad game.
The Giants former coach (I was in the vast minority who was actually on the fence about deserving a 3rd year btw) — picked them apart.
I don’t expect that to happen again. I think Judge and Graham are too talented and too smart. I also think their is too much talent on the defensive side of the football.
I watched the WFT/Chargers and I saw a perfectly reasonable back up performance from a QB.
But this is a short week, 2 practices, 3 days against a defense that has its back against the wall.

this year. Where are they coming from if this isn't one of them?
Giants will need to make a few plays on Offense but the D should be able to handle Heiny to the tune of a few ints.
A close win, but a win.
Those fans have seemingly disappeare; similar to the Daniel Jones supporters. Where are they?
10 wins and DJ plays for NYG in 2022.

The only reason for you to post this is you’re apparently patting yourself on the back for thinking the Giants and Jones both suck. Is that accurate? Of course it is. The constant need for Giants fans to be proven “right” is one of the most ridiculous things I’ve seen. It’s pathetic, actually. Who gives a shit if fans think the Giants can win 7 games? It really bothers you that much?
This place is an absolute clown show. Asking where posters are after one fucking game? Brilliant. Congrats?
Thomas is a matchup nightmare for teams, do you put 1 of the safeties on him who are smaller but smaller or do you put Martinez on him
I give you my word I’m not the mastermind of a cynical plot for BBI mutiny. I have a 6 day old newborn. My only current plot is poop, eat, swaddle, sleep.
I don’t love the construction of the team, and I think management has made a metric ton of errors along the way. I’ve never been shy about that. I think the Giants have organized a team that can compete for a .500 record (which is absolutely not good enough in season four of a regime).
But this is about a league average team in my view, and against a back up on a short week, the Giants have every advantage.

Oh damn, congratulations on the baby!
After we win this game, the attitude around here will be Superbowl bound. This place can be just as aptly named Yo Yo Interactive.

Thanks man!
I think things are playing out much like I felt over the Summer.
The offensive line is a mixed bag, the defensive line has taken a step back with the departures, Barkley will ease back slowly, the skill guys who missed time will be non-factors for a while.
I never got too excited about Jackson. I like investing in the secondary, but his output was lean in Tennessee. I think Shurmur played Graham, and attacked the middle of the field where Graham likes to blitz.
This isn’t a good team, it’s an average team. I think WFT is also an average team. But starting a basically unknown, inexperienced QB on 2 days practice. I think Graham is going to obliterate him.

Congrats, man!
This one is too important. I don't feel good about this game even though I probably should. I say should because Washington aint all that and now they don't have a real QB, but this is NYG we're talking about.
Prove it Thursday. Then win another one after that. Then don't fold after that and I will start to believe.
Isn't this word for word what everyone said about Denver too?

Crick hates me for whatever reason, so I don't know why I'm defending him...but I think he is referencing a post by Googs on another thread. He is probably being a bit sarcastic and it's not coming across

Mentioned same in another thread about Logan Thomas. Would imagine WFT is going to try attack with Thomas since Giants did such a below average job with the Denver TEs. Also easier throws for the inexperienced QB.
Presume though Graham will have Thomas covered in the gameplan so hopefully the Defense can rebound here. A little more man-to-man on the outside and a little more bodies flooding the middle of the field would help versus what we saw last week.

Bingo.
Can we stop baiting people? This thread is BULLSHIT.

This was exactly my reaction. But since he says he’s on the up and up, let me just point out that the experts at The Athletic make WFT the favorites. Michael Beller thinks WFT wins by at least five points, and says this:
“I see little chance that the Giants’ offensive line can keep Chase Young, Montez Sweat and company off Daniel Jones. The Giants’ surest way to keep the Washington pass rush honest would be to deploy a fully healthy Saquon Barkley, but, likely, he’ll still be operating at less than 100%. The strongest unit in this game is, without question, Washington’s defense, and they’re playing at home on a short week.”
I hope Beller’s wrong, but that’s a long way from calling the Giants a lock. And I still suspect Christian doesn’t really think that, either.

Chill out buddy. I’m just being consistent and not completely changing my view on the team because they had a rough first week.
The football gods have thrown the Giants a bone. On a short week this early in the year you’re relying on Summer reps and experience.
Really understand why we played things the way we did last year because the offense was totally abysmal, they weren't good Sunday, but they weren't bad and that's a great defense(even without Chubb). We need to start calling the defense to give the offense a better opportunity for success and to see if they sink or swim. It's an offensive league.
No Dalvin Tomlison and adding a second corner changes the calculus on how you need to call games. We just aren't going to win first and second down as much as we did last year creating 3rd and manageables that with the way Graham calls they'll convert at a high clip. We are about to find out if the Broncos were an abberation or a trend.

I don't hate ya buddy ✌️
No, the Giants aren't going to go down to Washington and smoke the team. They will be lucky to win by 1 point. WFT is at least as good as the Giants, and probably better.
That's the narrative until something changes. Give me an effing break with the "we're gonna smoke somebody" nonsense. The feel good crap with this team is officially over, there is nowhere to hide.
+1
I think we see McKinney permanently supplant Peppers, and the starters are Ryan and McKinney. Peppers had a flat out abysmal game is pass pro. He gave 5 catches on 5 targets, 3 for first downs.
I think Jackson was overpaid, but I don’t think he’s as bad as he showed Sunday. But that’s one to keep an eye on.
Shurmur threw directly into the blitz, knowing the inside pass rush is where Graham wants to go, and the middle of the field would be vacated. Graham needs to disguise that and bait better. Carter Coughlin played 4 snaps and blitzed 4 times. Shit like that needs to be less easy to guess.
OK, this made me LOL.

Smart post, especially for a sleepless new dad! Congrats.
Thank you sir!
Really? Suppose this guy went to Northern Iowa (but didn't start for his college team), was the third string QB on the Rams, and had on his resume starting qb for the Iowa Barnstormers of the Arena League on his resume? Think that would be an easy win?
Wrong. Kurt Warner was MVP and won the Super Bowl that year (2000), with that on his resume!!! No one knows how good Heinecke will be yet, but there's every chance he's better than Terry Bridgewater, who shredded our defense.
Oh, and where is the offense coming from to "smoke WFT"?? Our running game? Where Barkley had a 2.6 average? Our Passing game? Did you see a 300 yard game last week that I didn't see? Oh, our Offensive Line? Our Defensive Line that couldn't hold and edge, Our Shutdown (not) corners, or Our tackling machine LB's?
Hey, Washington is JUST as desperate to win this game, if not more. They're playing at home. Yes, we have had their number, but that only goes so far.
As far as the playbook being leaked, that's no big deal. It's not like everyone isn't aware of what Garrett runs, and will be prepared for it. I am sick to death of watching other teams WR's run free, and seeing no separation from our guys. There's talent there, it's just that the schemes being run don't work, and our OC is too stubborn to change.
I see a low scoring game, where WFT will wait for our Offense to self destruct, something it has been very good at. I expect at least 1 int and 1 fumble. WFT 17, NYG 10. The Giants will continue to struggle on offense.
WFT handed the ball to the Giants on the 20 for the go ahead field goal, then missed the winning field goal.
Add that to Slayton dropping a dagger TD.
The Giants gsve away the game to an inferior team.

You said smoked. At in shouldn't come down to the 4th quarter. Take your L.

Can we get:
Barkley 189 yards and a TD
and
Jones 352 yard and 5 TDs
I guess that depends on whether or not everyone on WFT's defense is out and they sign 3 DBs off the street to start the game like they did in 2019.
