NFT: Mavericks and Kidd supposedly interested in Frank Ntilikina

GeofromNJ : 9/15/2021 8:20 pm
Stephan Bondy is reporting that Marc Stein is claiming that Jason Kidd thinks he can develop Frank Ntilikina into a useful, if not successful, NBA guard. If anybody knows how to play guard in the NBA, it's Jason Kidd. Best of luck to both. And if Frank is successful, I still won't regret the Knicks letting him go. I am pumped for this year. Looking forward to seeing what Thibodeau can do with this roster.

Tim Cowlishaw proposes a KP for Ben Simmons trade
shyster : 9/15/2021 8:39 pm : link
He admits there is a 99% chance it won't happen but it gives him an excuse to write a column about Porzingis (and Doncic and Cuban).

Cowlishaw says Cuban wants to prove that Rick Carlisle was the reason Porzingis has been a disappointment since the trade.

And Kidd says he really wants to coach Porzingis and make it work. Sounds familiar.

No ill will toward Frank.

Hope he thrives somewhere. Same for Kevin Knox, Dennis Smith Jr. and anyone else who hasn't become the Knicks stud we hoped he'd be.

The whole Frank Ntilikina situation was fucked up from the start, through no fault of his own. He didn't make the most of his chances after that, but I'm not going to hold a grudge about that. The Knicks seem to be on the right track and he's expendable anyway.
Frank

Is going to be a good nba player for a contender. Dallas would be a great for for him. I hope he plays great.
Frank is kinda to blame for it not working out

He's too passive for his own good offensively.

There's no reason why he can't carve out a 10-12 year career as a 3 & D guy except for himself.

I agree he showed flashes of what he could possibly be.
The high draft pick and his age got in his head.
He definitely was not ready.
Hopefully a reboot somewhere with no expectations will help his development
Frank was a likable guy

And had some fun moments, including the great lockdown D at the end of the game on his new teammate Luka.

But he wasn't a good player, couldn't stay healthy and was a draft bust. Deuce is already looking like the player I hoped Frank would become and the new guys got him in the second round. I have no hard feelings against Frank because he gave a shit and tried. He just shouldn't have been picked where he was.

It's tough to know what to do with Porzingis. He's either too frail to play inside or doesn't want to, but to have that height and athleticism not playing inside doesn't make a lot of sense.
wish him the best but i dont see it...
Italianju : 9/16/2021 10:37 am : link
the idea he can be a good 3-D guy is true, but who cares. There are a million of those guys. Most will be better shooters then he is and his D always seemed a bit overrated. You can see how good of a defender he could be, but anytime he tries to play aggressive D he gets called for a foul. Often it is a foul, but its also the nba where everything is a foul.

I mean he is still a FA right now right? And DAL is "supposedly" interested in him. So its not like teams are rushing to sign him.
