Daniel Jones vs Washington (Interesting Stat/s)

jvm52106 : 9/16/2021 9:08 am
I know, there have been stories out already about JOnes's success (moderate stats but 4 wins) vs washington. However, as part of that success I noticed something I wanted to share that could be a point of emphasis tonight and certainly if you play fantasy football (Draftkings Showdown game).

Jones vs Washington covers 4 games, two coached by Pat Shurmur and 2 by Joe Judge.

In those 4 games he is 4-0, 86 of 126 (68.25%), 901 yds, 8 Tds 3 Int with 3 fumbles none lost.

Total points Scored (team wise)- 108 pts scored 82 pts against.

Saquan Barkley has played in just 1 game, the second game vs wash in 2019.

In these games, Daniel Jones has targeted the TE position 37 times (29.4 % of passes attempted), completing 29 times (33.7% of completions went to TE's) and 3 of his 8 TD passes are to TE's.

E. Engram (who missed the 2nd Wash game in 2019- Jones's best game) has been targeted 20 times for 11 recs.

K. Smith has been targeted 12 times with 10 receptions and 2 TDs (both in the 2nd game vs Wash 2019).

even Rhett Ellison was targeted 4 times with 3 receptions in 1st game vs Wash 2019.

I know EE is out but, he has been before and Jones still targeted the TE vs Wash. That targeting has continued under Judge (same as under Shurmur) and I think both Smith and Rudolph will see an uptick in their usage tonight. I don't think they will be big yardage plays but, I can see a lot of middle of the, quick plays to the TE here as Jones has done that a lot vs Washington.
I hope not

WFT corners were struggling on Sunday. Fuller's still there, but their CB personnel is completely different this year.

The rookie Benjamin St-Juste played a lot Sunday opposite Fuller, and it was trial by fire. He and Will Jackson are trying to replace Ronald Darby, who started all 16 games last year for them.

We have to get our WRs going early, and Fuller can't cover Golladay and Shepard - so one of them is going to have a favorable matchup at all times.

Again, that may be true and of course we will target WR's, my point is I am willing to bet KR or KS see an uptick and passes- and by the way, the WFT knows their CB's are trouble too (and with EE out) may spend more effort helping out there- thus leaving the TE's with more favorable matchups.
Those numbers are skewed....

Take out the numbers he had when in Shurmur's offense compared to Garrett's offense.

And 4-0 against Washington.

Pick your stat.
I still think EE missing the game is not necessarily a bad thing.

I hate to keep bashing EE, but the above stats pretty well epitomize his difficulty catching the f*king ball.

An unheralded UDFA, Smith, catches 10 out of 12 targets. EE - 11 out of 20. And is it totally a coincidence that Jones's best game was without EE? I don't think so.

Tonight, I want to see Golladay targeted early and often.

I want to see the Giants OL pick up the blitz on 3rd down

I heard on Just Giants podcast that St. Juste was covering Mike Williams last week since he's much taller than Fuller and Jackson. He may be on Golladay tonight. If so, KG should have a big night.

Agreed. WFT will try to get there with their front four, and will likely only blitz if we are moving the ball against them. If their front four can beat our line this game is over early.
