It is still unfathomable to me that they didn’t try and score.
1. Washington had all of their timeouts. So - even if you run - they are going to get the ball back with 2 minutes and all they need is a FG
2. If you run on 1st and 2nd down, you HAVE to run on third down. Make Washington use their last timeout. You effectively just gave them a free timeout by doing that. Either make them use all of them or try and score.
3. Everyone on earth knew the defense wasn’t holding up. Stop coaching like the players are always going to make the play. Washington was going to get at least to the 50 again. It was just plain obvious.
4. You were GIFTED a chance to win the game by a horrific INT (and play call for that matter) and you basically said oh ok thanks boys, we will just take 3 and maybe hope you stop you!
He is getting the message from Judge to be conservative and is consistent with how Judge coaches . I'll blame Garrett for some of the play designs and personnel usage but not for being conservative

You and I rarely agree but I'm 100% in agreement with this. They had a lot of success when they started throwing downfield in the second half - why go away from it? Why not go for 6?
if you take Slater, you don't do the deal with the Bears and get their #1 next year. DG has had plenty of time to fix the OL. Instead he gave us Solder's terrible contract, Peart, Omameh, and Hernandez.
Well that is on Judge, obviously he was confident in Peart and was not looking for players on the line. All throughout the draft he said he indicated what he wanted and needed. All these free agents and rookies had to be interviewed and be given the ok by Judge. As a coach he should have assessed his needs better. Regardless of what slater did, I don’t think he suggested to take your two high priced free agents and run a soft zone with them. Would Slater have told Judge not to try and run out the clock when it was mathematically impossible.
It is still unfathomable to me that they didn’t try and score.

I didn't bring up Slater. Zeke did. Try to keep up. Thanks.
The whole purpose of your presence on BBI is clearly to be an asshole.
You can’t just send and pretend to know things that you don’t or you statistics instead of understanding the game.
I give you credit for being consistent.
But at the end of the day you enjoy the team losing as long ad you get to say , “I told you so.”
They allowed that shitty backup QB to drop 30 on them. The lack of a pass rush is becoming a HUGE concern. The Washington Tackles are both pretty bad and the Giants didn’t touch Heinicke after Olujari’s sack in the first drive of the game.
what sucks even more - is that it was also plain obvious to all of us that if we had tried to score, we probably would have. Throw a play action, throw a quick throw on first down, get it to 2nd and short, then throw it again. Touchdown. Game over.
The fact that we slung the ball all over the field on these guys and then didn’t put the ball in Jones’ hands to put the game away is so gutless.
Also - you’re on the road against the division champion. That’s just such a pussy mindset I don’t even know where to begin.
None of us fans would be hating on it if they had tried to score and just made three incompletions or something. It didn’t matter! There was still going to be 2 minutes left regardless!
There is alot of star power money being paid out to a few players
to be 0-2 and we mortgage next year by paying bonuses out to free up cap thinking we would have a good record this year..so when Judge says they are building up to end of season that is a bunch of bullcrap.
you may be right about that. It would have been close for sure. Either way - you should still run on third down if you’re gonna just run up the middle on first and second. I think they were doing that because they were scared shitless of a turnover. Which is bullshit.

to get WAS to burn Timeouts . What a fucking idiot. All they need is a FG to come down the field and win. Who cares if they have 1 timeout or 3 timeouts. His whole mentality is wrong .
3-14 here we come
Winners play aggressively. Losers play conservatively. You only play conservatively in that situation if a FG puts up by four, or at least three.
Bingo.
Coaching staff lost this game, particularly the defensive game plan and coaching at the end.
If you aren't going to do the right things in the really close games, you're not going to win in the NFL.
Yea the fucking idiot and his timeouts .... it’s like all the guy cares about is using all his time outs and worrying about the opposing team timeouts instead of winning the damn game
The ending of that game was painfully obvious. The only brief change up was Bradberry’s pick (but even then you knew playing it conservative was coming).
After going up 26-20 following the Slyton drop who didn’t know the following?
That the Redskins would march down and take the lead (a little surprised it was just 2 plays).
That we would follow that up with a punt.
And that after going up 29-27, Washington was going to do just enough to get the 3 they needed.
It is still unfathomable to me that they didn’t try and score.

Just complete ignorance in terms of time management. It felt like they didn't understand that WFT could just call two timeouts after those dummy "clock" runs to force the Giants in an obvious pass 3rd and long. You get a first down and you basically win the game. It's insane they didn't even really try there.
The second to last Gano FG is not going to get enough shit. It was a mind-numbingly dumb attempt despite the conversion. It's a lower conversion 55 yard FG attempt, very far from a gimme. I don't care about the faith you have in your kicker. You're taking the game from 3 points to 6 points. It's a makeable 4th down attempt, if you convert that you put yourself in position to score 7 AND kill clock. It's a 4th down conversion that could end the game. It's clouded by the 2 play WFT scoring drive, 3 play turnover drive and 3 play whatever the fuck Giants drive. That was a critical decision.

I think i am, that's why did at least try to throw there. If they run, WSH lets it go down to 2 min, and we kick the FG, they get the ball at the 25 with about a 1:53 and 1 TO....
And of course still drive the field and get in FG range...totally predictable.
the defensive performance does not make sense to me. I thought we would be playing a lot more man this year with the additions. But, I could be missing something.
Judge in his presser says players will be back MONDAY
to work on cleaning up their mistakes. Get their ass beat like this and you give them THREE DAYS OFF?! Is that a CBA thing? Otherwise, get their ass in there and get to work this weekend.
This was absolutely worse than Philly. We just had our QB play one of his best games of his career and we still lost to an undrafted QB and we went offsides on a FG Miss to end the game. This is way worse.
We lost the Philly game mainly because of the Engram drop - but it’s not like the offense played that well that whole game.
The offense was great tonight and the coordinator and head coach didn’t let them do more.
1) When is Leonard Williams going to show up?
2) Will we just play soft zone with no pass rush all season?
3) Could we be more conservative on offense?
4) Don't take a shot at the end zone after picking the ball off at the WFT 20? Settle for a 3 and FG?
5) Holding call? 4 points. Dropped TD. 4 points. False start to knock us out of FG range. 3 points. That's 11 points left on the field. Then a fucking offsides by the NT on a FG? Another 3 point swing for a total of 14 points difference.
6) For all the tough talk, this is an undisciplined team.
7) Another fucking nobody tear up the D.
8) I'm just sick after that game.
9) Gano outscored the rest of the offense.
10) I'm sick of the same old shit.
11) Did I say I'm sick of this?

I could be mistaken but Bradberry was shadowing McLaurin and then got worked on that drive. I even saw a lot of man after that throughout the game until that last drive too. I'm watching the TV broadcast and following the ball but that's what I saw. Rush wasn't getting there and the corners had a rough game outside of the splash play but I saw them playing a lot of man.

EXACTLY
It's swell that he played well against the Skins, which he usually does. Be nice if he played well against a good team occasionally.
I didn't like the pick because I don't like picking a guy at 6 overall to be an average-ish NFL QB.
The fact that we slung the ball all over the field on these guys and then didn’t put the ball in Jones’ hands to put the game away is so gutless.

The running game in the current NFL has moderate (or less) correlation with wins.
The problem isn't their inability to run. It's their insistence upon running when it's not working.
