Aikman was right. Through much of the game Jones had more time to throw than he's ever had throughout his pro career.
It certainly wasn't perfect (ORT is still weak), but it seemed to me they did better in pass protection with Price and Bredeson in there than the were doing with Gates and Lemieux.
If so, you have to wonder why the coaches didn't see it before the injuries.
I've thought the Skins D has been overrated for a while. IIRC their ballyhooed DL didn't get much pressure even against last season's shitty DL, did they?
No he wasn't...OP was right, I thought once they got over the shock of Gates broken leg, the played better. Aikman also said Gates was getting shove backwards by the DTs.
Also remember Price and Bredesen just got there 15 days ago and have had about 5 or 6 practices. You would think they will get better with more time together.
I was not unimpressed.
Chase Young is a guy who has 5 incredible plays a game, and disappears for most of the rest. He is dominant occasionally and ordinary most of the time.
Still worried about ancillary blocking, Barkley I believe missed an easy blitz pickup tonight, blocking to the wrong side.
Which, to be honest, was to be expected with such a makeshift situation. And then Gates twisted his leg like a pretzel...
It may be a blow, but the line that finished the game was better than the line that started the game and the line that played last week...
I will wait to see what Sy'56 says about the line and Bobby at Talkin' Giants. But they were good in pass pro and should have been better in run blocking. Run blocking may be because of lack of playing time together.
Agreed. And not only that - Bredeson stepped in and played well. They would've been fine just doing that instead of moving Gates. Everything this team does blows up in its face.
O’Hara complimented Price on the post game show. So, um, nope.
Its amazing what a difference is made by getting half way decent protection.
