Worst part of the night was after the game in the post game press conference, Judge looked shook to me. Like he had a false bravado but was stammering and unsure of himself. If he loses the locker room, we will be top pick bad. I hope that doesn't happen.
I think we saw what Judge and DG saw with Jones in practice which lead to the shopping spree. When the kid has time he can make plays. His two throws to Slayton were great and his intermediate balls were very accurate. I thought his weakness is throwing on the run which we all saw on that 3rd down to Slayton.
I think Jones' legs stymied the WAS pass rush. Once he started really RPOing and consistently threatening the edge, the pass rush died down. Its like they had to wait a beat to contain. I hope they run him more.
Frustrating that DG and Judge didn't see this and pick a backup that could execute the same offense. I'd pick up a Chase Mcsorley. You put Glennon back there and I think its easy pickings.
I hated seeing Golladay yell at DJ. I know they are men, but dude, you were in the game, kid made plays. How about you make those contested catches you were paid for?
I didn't get how WAS picked up so much chunk yardage running the ball. They have no names on that OL. We have Barkley and can't do a damn thing. Is it scheme or personnel, likely both.
Watching last night, I tried to envision what we would look like vs Philly and DAL. I think the defense will have big problems with both QBs. Unless Graham can somehow unlock a pass rush, we will be watching long opponent drives all season long. NFL QBs are just too good with time. WAS missed some easy TD throws.
I enjoy watching Mckinney play. I think he's the best safety on the field, Peppers may be faster in a straight line but Mckinney's instincts give him range. Excited to see where he goes.
Lots of if statements needed to see any kind of productive system. If they can find a passrusher, if Saquon can actually play. If the defense can make a stop. I'm looking forward to ATL and a win but have tempered any enthusiasm after such a gut wrenching defeat. Don't want to see the season derailed.
speaks volumes for what they would like to run-- its like they were forced to run what should be so obvious in the first place
Not a great sign
You will be disappointed.
Not a great sign
OK I laughed out loud at this.
There is a reason Saban and Belichick's programs are often replicated, never duplicated. Without those 2 GOAT's, it doesn't work.
It was Joe Judge who instructed the team to run twice into the middle of the OL to make WAS use its timeouts. Most forward thinking coaches in today's NFL realize you cannot give the ball back to the other team only needing a FG to win. Not Joe. Stupid coach leads to a stupid team.
He could spell Jones here or there and it might loosen the defense up a bit and benefit the running game.

Bryce Perkins would have been a great guy to pick up for that reason.
I disagree with the Golladay yelling thing. They seem to be pretty close - who fucking cares. Some passion might wake up this offense.
If you went into the game not knowing a thing about anyone, you'd just realize Antonio Gibson is a better football player than Saquon Barkley, which is why Gibson makes more consistent yardage.
The Giants decided to build their whole team around a homerun hitting RB who does very little with 90% of his carries. That's not going to sustain an NFL offense, but we just had to have it. We had no interest in the HOF G, the MVP QB or the Pro Bowl 2-way DE.
The false assumptions go to the whole team, too: If you were told the Giants would lose Gates & Lemieux for the season and the Defense would suck, what would you think would happen?
Slayton had a very uneven game. His routes sucked and he needs to catch balls that hit him in the hands.
Shep on the other hand is really surprising me so far. Much more explosive than I remember.

If Gettleman had done what you claim, then you would by nhow be seeing a top offensive line. You would have seen the OLine's development being prioritised. It's precisely because they haven't done any of that, that Barkley has become a wasted pick.
Gettleman arrived in New York talking about hog mollies, and he just hasn't delivered.
I still can't believe they ran that same play the exact same way, with Rudolph simply releasing downfield without blocking the DE. What kind of bumblefuck play design is that??
