then Graham is the bigger issue. When you consider the O put up 29 points against a very good D (and if not for a holding penalty and dropped TD pass it could have been 40 point), Garrett did a decent job last night.
have individually concluded that they should play ultra-conservative football, or is it possible that this is the direction coming from the coach they both work for?
The philosophy of the team heading into both games this year seems to be "try to stay in it as long as you can."
You can say his play calling was much better yesterday but when we needed something inspiring at the end of the he turtled. Graham has been awful these first 2 games as well but I have to imagine it's tough calling a game when your Dline cant stop the run or get ANY pressure on a practice squad QB who was throwing ducks all over the field.
But I give the nod to Graham more then Garrett. Aikman was mystified how soft the defense was playing. Graham schemes were much more aggressive last year with a lesser amount talent on the back end then this year. As for Garrett, I'm not sure his running it three times like that at the end wasn't a directive from the head coach. If it was he needs to be the one running laps.
WFT had three times out left including the two minute warning. they new the Giants were going to run it there so they stacked the box. They had nowhere to go. With that in mind the Giants had no shot at running time off the clock and they didn't. Washington got the ball back with one time out left and the two minute warning to boot. Why not pass the ball or go for the kill shot. Judge had to know they weren't going to be able to run the clock down with that tact. Plus, what made him think by giving Washington the ball back with that much time left his swiss chees defense was gonna stop them anyway.
At least give a try. Why not fake like your gonna run and roll Jones out. Someone might pop open. it may or may not work but hey, at least give it a try. You weren't gonna run the clock down anyway. Oh woe are we. This ten years running of bad football.
The O sucked in week 1, but played well last night. I thought for the most part, JG called a really good game (before the last possession, at least). D has sucked 2 weeks in a row. Graham has some work to do.
coincidence you had a lot of ex QBs crapping all over him and watching Shurmur the week before for the light to go on. All the things we bitched about he did. More passing on first down, down and distance out the window, less sticks concepts, more downfield passing. I’ve seen enough that we should be 3/4 wide all game and live with the sacks. DJ makes to many plays downfield if you give him an iota of time, he’ll make up the yardage. Also helps Barkley in space. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but Engram coming back in an offense like this will help big time.
Graham though? What…the…..fuck. Soft zone (and man) when we are going up against dink and dunk QBs who generally distribute well? What we sign Adoree for? We have talent on that side of the ball and it often bails him out occasionally. Dudes a one trick pony at this point and will work against downfield passing attacks (and why we saw success vs Seattle last year). That is not most the NFL. I’m not surprised Judge hired him because he’s a dickless pussy too.
There’s a reason why Miami let him walk for a lateral move. There’s enough tape out on his bullshit now. This defense is going to get shredded all season, especially when they face a murderers row of offenses in a few weeks.
Someone please explain it to me.
the guy is a rising star
(sarcasm)
Garrett.
This defense was suppose to legit, our strengthen and have looked like a bottom of the league defense so far
Can't we just get along and agree that both units are very bad and have the potential to derail any game they play?
Think Tomlinson had an effect on the pass rush and his replacement isn't getting the same production.
Time for Carter and the others to step up. Find a way to beat your man

This team, like many other Giant teams in the past decade, look like they are waiting for things to go wrong.
It's everyone from the owner down to the parking lot attendants.
They all expect to lose.
+1

A situational pass rusher is not enough, You need an every down pass rusher. Carter and Ximines are terrible Gettleman picks.

What is this defense going to look like when they face real starting QBs?
NFL really does stand for Not For Long
