"...Shepard continuing to lead the Giants in targets nevertheless makes too much sense. He is the perfect conservative option for a conservative quarterback taking plays from a conservative offensive coordinator working for a conservative coach employed by a conservative general manager cashing checks from a conservative owner"
Just a bummer to read that and completely agree with it, especially when it's in the process of praising a player on our team.
The rest of the blurb is also very complimentary of Shepard. I think you're misconstruing what I was trying to say.
The quote was taken out of context, but mostly because I wasn't trying to make a point about Shepard's play. Here's the full blurb:
"Operating as the Giants' WR1 to begin the year, Shepard will enter Week 3 having turned 19 targets into 16/207/1 in one five-day period. Of course, both games were Giants losses, while big-dollar free agent addition Kenny Golladay was already visibly frustrated with Daniel Jones on Thursday evening. Shepard continuing to lead the Giants in targets nevertheless makes too much sense. He is the perfect conservative option for a conservative quarterback taking plays from a conservative offensive coordinator working for a conservative coach employed by a conservative general manager cashing checks from a conservative owner. Shepard will have WR2 juice for Week 3 against the horrid Falcons. "
Sheppard is a pros, pro
All that being said
Solid NFL players don't win football games.

This is NOT a dig on Shepard at all. This is a dig at the TOP TO BOTTOM over the top conservatism at EVERY level of the org.
