*The Giants lost despite finishing with no turnovers. They have lost their last three games in which they had no giveaways.
*The Giants fell to 0-2 for the fifth straight season and the eighth time in nine years.
*Daniel Jones had nine carries for 95 yards, a single-game record for a Giants quarterback in the Super Bowl era – and he set the mark despite having a 58-yard touchdown run taken off the board by a holding penalty.
*Jones lost for the first time in five starts against Washington.
*Graham Gano extended his Giants-record streak to 35 consecutive successful field goal attempts. His most recent miss was a 57-yard try at Chicago on Sept. 20, 2020.
*This was the third time in Giants history – the second by Gano – a kicker had three field goals longer than 40 yards in a regular-season game.
*Washington quarterback Taylor Heinicke completed 34 of 46 passes for 336 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. The yardage total was the highest by a Giants opponent since Nov. 8, 2020, when Alex Smith – subbing for the injured Kyle Allen – threw for 325 yards in the Giants’ previous visit to FedEd.
*The Giants lost their sixth consecutive Thursday night game. They are 3-7 on Thursday nights since 2012, including 2-6 as visitors.
It really is disgraceful. The Giants seemed to say "Hey, we got A Gamed by Bridgewater, it happens." And he did play well.
The funny thing is, Heineke did not even play well. He was off (high or behind) on almost all of his passes and was basically serving up INT balls all night. If the Giants could cover, they'd have had 3+ INTs on this dude. There's a reason this guy lost the competition with Fitzpatrick.
Same!!! In fact, that first asterisk is as depressing a stat as any. It's pretty widely regarded that turnovers are one of the most direct factors in winning and losing. When we get that part of the game right, we still can't win!
Breaking/changing a culture of losing is really hard.
All teams go through it, but hearing that doesn't make it any easier.
Hang in there my big blue brethren ... like all things in life, this too shall pass.
I have a feeling they bounce back but after that its not an easy stretch.
That was a turnover.
Totally agreed.
They have 10 days to regroup, lick their wounds, man-up, come together and win a game.
If they lose - it could look like that Eagles game during the McAdoo era (2017) when that team straight up quit on him after that game and the Giants cleared house after the season.

That's just it though, you don't know that this will pass. It could go on forever.
I'm sure every Cubs, Red Sox, and Buccaneers fan thought the same thing...
Of course, every Indians/Guardians and Lions fan are still saying it.
It's the optimist in me, which today is harder to find than most days as a GIants fan.
But what else can you tell yourself if you're going to choose not to wallow in your Giants cup of tears :)

I noted this the other day after watching him against the Chargers. Most people on this board considered him a backup QB. If you watched him on Sunday he was much more dangerous than most thought. Our D really needs to come together. More snaps during preseason was needed. We can’t get off the field and big chucks of yards are given up. Last set of downs for Washington, why was Blake on the field? Makes no sense, we were better off with another rusher or DB. He did nothing. I am starting to believe that none of these players have bought into Judge. They including Judge don’t know how to win. Learning that has become a nightmare for this team. 0 and 2 within the first week of the season against average at best teams. DJ played his best ball last night and we still lost.
At this point I’d take Garrett over Judge.
Thanks for nothing!!!
Graham's got work to do.
That was a turnover.
You misread that sentence.
I'm convinced we are cursed by backup QBs. Most likely explanation is that Wellington Mara made a deal with Satan for Superbowl XXV.
"You want to win the game with HOSTETLER? Fine, under one condition..."
Graham's got work to do.
It’s like we played into the two QBs strengths week 1 and 2. Its mind bogglingly. Wed been better off playing Lock and Fitz. Graham’s a one trick pony who certainly won’t be a HC anytime soon so we have that.
