First
The Offense played its guts out. Immediately lose the most important player on the OL with a horrific injury -Love me some Gates. Hes the one btw the way that called alignment and check etc. Big big blow. We lost 2 of our tough guys up front. You know what happened they had a couple of procedure penalties but they all played their ass off against the all world D front of WFT. They palyed their ass off it wasnt perfect - DJ was phenominal to not only keep it together but continually putting them in the LEAD! Great throws and runs and call at the line -ie first TD to Slay. He was under pressure and still made great plays. SQ looks like hes starting to come on -hit the holes in 3/4 qtr much better and made some nice reads. WRs still work in progress need practice, Shep new man whatever they did with him is working, he seems tougher smarter and savvier too -hope he keeps this up.. Cant just jam him at line anymore. Slayton starting to come on too.. Damn that would have been a nice TD there -btw Did you see the hit DJ took when he threw it?! OK ill get to the O after the turnover.
Second
Defense looks lost in the middle of the field. Graham has to get that fixed.. Not sure why they have LBr on TE on passing down? Gave QB too much time and let him get comfortable, hopefully we will see the D turn up the heat or it will be a long season. They need to get off the damn field and make stops! Bradberry starting to come around -great INT! Adoree looks like he is coming off injury still not playing freely and fast but much improved. Carter and Alujialari look right out there. Safety play need to pick it up.
Third
Coaching -This loss was due to bad decisions by the young coach. After the turnover you go for the kill. I hated the play calling decision. I understand the issue with the time outs but it wouldnt have mattered if you get that score. Trusting this D to hold after the could not get off the field the whole game was a bad decision.
Fourth
After all that this team played tough and hard the whole game. Was the end disappointing -absolutely. They made easily fixable mistakes .I was impressed how well the team rose to the challenge.. Dont forget we were dominating upfront until the injury. Losing Gates could have been catastrophic but they held it together after the injury. I like this team. It needs a couple more games and i think it takes off. This year reminds me off Coughlins early years.. fits and spurts and bad losses but you could see the identity start to rise.
Last
Look i know bad teams will not get the calls but The refs were awful, brutal calls all game. how was that not a PI on Golladay on the sideline?! he had to try and catch one handed and the ref was looking right at him. Or the OPI Call on the TD on Dans run? On D too Dex got held and was in choke hold on the TD throw right in front of the ref, then the 3 bad spots 2 of which should have been first downs. Very poor work but you cant blame the refs, Giants game was in hand had the lead and D could stop em when we needed it. End of story 2 games D shit the bed.
They folded late in the game to blow a win. Just like they have done over and over again over the years.
In general, I agree with your comments.
But not a word about the non-existent pass rush?
Can't win in the NFL with Giants-level pass rushers. They are bottom-tier.
And so is the team.

No good point i agree with it too, we did see pressure but not enough and yes the D must play more aggressively the 2 CBs need to hold up better 1 on 1 and the safeties have to cover the middle better. That said I like what Carter and Olijuari were doing for the most part.

So much this. This is basically a copy + paste from every 'positive takeaways' thread of the last few seasons and in the end we never had any actual sustained positive improvement.
can't stop the run at all. they shouldn't have let tomlinson walk, and their first-round draft pick can't get on the field. the coaching has been questionable at best. things seem bad.
To become great -we gotta learn to win. -Bruce Arians
Win games.
has trouble to find a yard(which has been his MO). The defense is embarrassing and a waste of money. Hope Graham gets a HC gig this off season. And Joe that was not blue collar defense we witnessed.
Win games.
No That timeline is erroneous -This is the teams 2nd year together -which didnt not have many of its starters practice pre season due to injuries and covid issues.. unfortunate but true. This is a team that has completely turned over its roster and has not played together long enough yet.
Losers are worrying about comebacker before they hit the putt.
Everyone in the franchise knows it's not going in the hole right now.
With every loss - it gets harder and harder to stand with confidence over that putt.
It's a hard cycle to break.
They gave this game away against a team playing their backup QB on a short week. Can you imagine the excuses on here if the Giants started Mike Glennon on a Thursday night?
It's sad how far the expectations of this fanbase has fallen.

Is it irrational for fans to be tired of the team losing the same ways even though it is only the second year of this staff? I think fans are right to be upset with zero patience at this point.
yeah i get it - It was the same thing when TC took over, Giant fans couldnt see it starting to come together. I get it its emotional and you can get wrapped up in it, but being irrational and over react based on history or uninformed perceptions is just dumb. Its why people make bad decisions or lose money in markets or gamblers continue to lose or blow up relationships or voted for Biden lol

You don't think other NFL teams have covid or injury issues? Just the Giants okay...
And you realize this is Rivera's 2nd year and he just beat the Giants with a backup QB on a short week. But keep rolling out those excuses... They are making progress!!!

The Giants made the playoffs in coughlin's first full season as head coach. They went into 2006 expecting to make the playoffs.
This team has sucked for 5 years.
I am not getting any younger, this much I know.

His team was also ale to practice together tis preseason - I watch them and I like Ron as a coach too. I love Del Rio as D coordinator -the have a very talented team espec D and we just put up points on them.
Yep, made playoffs in 2005, won SB in 2007 (Eli's 4th year).

The Giants weren't able to practice this preseason? I missed that.
The excuses made for this team are unbelievable.

Injuries aren’t an excuse.
There is nothing wrong with the coaching, It would be nice if they can keep the line intact and get some playing time, gonna havve to add another OL tho. Peart will probably staart playing more going forward even though Solder was pretty OK last night. There is nothing wrong with the QB just give him a bit of time in the pocket and allow him to grow, let SQ find his game -new knee and all.. Does the D have enough? I think so not gonna be world beaters yet but will keep us in games once it finds itself too.

We’ve been hearing they’d find themselves for five years and then everyone gets duped by a two game winning streak at the end of the year
