Ten days ago Sports Illustrated posted the linked article entitled "Patrick Graham Is Creating A Defensive Masterpiece." The article refers to him as the Black Picasso and a player calls him a genius.
His defensive masterpiece just gave up 30 points to a backup QB. The media hype of this coaching staff is beyond ridiculous.

miami has been a carousel of assistants under flores overall.
There is no homegrown core. Defenses like that rarely age well or sustain a high level of play.
LOL. Especially that goal line formation. It was definitely surreal

It's actually kind of funny - many people groused from 2017 on about how the 2016 defense wasn't built for the long haul, and then fulsomely praised the 2020 defense. And, now, the 2121 defense is starting to look an awful lot like the 2017 defense.
If this was Reddit I'd upvote the hell out of this post.
No, really, this IS a defense!
They might as well have just put up an exit ramp with an arrow - TOUCHDOWN, THIS EXIT

you can tell me that's supposed to be a defense, but I'll be damned if I know what I'm looking at

I think if the reference is about being Picasso, cubist would be a better term. Or maybe it would be from his blue period.

Maybe Graham forgot that there's a thing called an audible?
Reverse psychology obviously.

The LG injure his neck on that play ..... straining to find someone to block.
Feels like a "blue" period. Not a Giants' Blue ... Blue in a depressing sense.
: (
I guess giving Graham partial ownership wouldn't make things much worse in that department, so there's that.

I think he did do a good job last year and fans saw that. The giants then added more talent to the defense so fans, rightfully so had higher expectations.

In golf this is what they cal a gimme!!
Got very similar vibes from it
An offensive coordinator that went to Princeton
A QB who turned down Princeton to go to Duke
And they’re all dummies
Last night's performance in the secondary seemed more about a problem with scheme than execution, to my eyes. Just entirely too soft, too much zone, etc. And it wasn't helped by the lack of generating a pass rush (which could be both schematic and performance-related).

But the D is composed of overpaid veteran imports: Leonard, Bradbury, Jackson, Martinez, Ryan.

It’s not the players though, it’s the scheme. If we wanted to run it like this might as well signed Dalvin and saved the dollars on Adoree. Graham is a one trick pony.
“Wants to play more man”. Well the problem is even when he does our safeties and corners give giant cushions. What the hell is the point of signing all these secondary pieces when you act terrified of the other teams weapons? Especially against two QBs in a row that struggle to get the ball downfield.

Graham went to Yale. Had he gone to Harvard we probably win last night... ;)
The soft zone is clearly not working.
This defense can't get off the field, suck on 3rd down defense and short yardage defense.
They always give up points late at the half and can't ever get a stop when they need it.
Boy do I miss the days of those Parcells teams with the great Defense.
I think Judge want to play the game safe. Don't be afraid to give up yardage and hope for a mistake and count on giving up FG's rather than TD's. Essentially he has little confidence in his offenses ability to score.
Graham just refuses to adjust. I get it, they have some nice WRs/TE/Backs, but we are supposed to have a damn good secondary. Even when we play man we give giant cushions. Let these weaker armed QBs try to beat you down the field, watching this in back to back weeks was maddening. WFT is like a carbon copy of the Broncos with Heineke and Bridgewater under center and where the talent lies.
We pressed more in the second half, especially in the 4th. But it's a good question.
With all of the money tied up in Bradberry and Jackson, we should be bumping/jamming on the majority of the plays, IMV.
