Alright - I'm going to be a glass half-full guy because, why not.
- I actually thought protection was serviceable both games (run blocking is a different story). WAS Def front is top-5 in the league
- DJ looked good and in neither game was he the reason we lost. Yes the fumble sucked, but our Defense couldn't get off the field either. Add in what he can do with his legs and we'll be ok here
- Defense is somewhat of a headscratcher but I think they can right the ship. I can handle losing to a guy like McLaurin, he's a beast WR and if he goes off so be it. But when guys like McKissic and Seals-Jones beat you that's what I hate. That was like 3 plays that helped determine the game. Graham is going to start bringing the pressure (at least he better) and the defense will come together
Last night I was throwing my laptop but today I'm more level headed. This team has been in the dumpster fire 5 years so we can only go up from here, right?
has not helped. Hill and Tomlinson were pretty stout. Not sure the replacements are quite there yet.
Sure.
Graham and Judge need to figure it out, here's to hoping they can. I'm not lost on the season yet, but if they lose to the Falcons, this team has the potential to explode. These guys are going to see the same shit we did on film next week and are going to question him not letting them, on the field, try to win the game.
Sure.
Well the coaching has potential to certainly get better and the biggest reason we lost yesterday. IF they can learn from their mistakes on a long week, the season will be just fine. It wasn't the players.
Fuck off.
I swear just when you think people will absorb any type of common sense, I read these posts. They're a good laugh but nothing will ever top that Evan Engram (lol) might one day be Tony Gonzalez or Jason witten.
You'll all buy anything this hot trash team will sell you, including maggot ketchup sandwiches.
It's not hard to exploit people and convince them their bullshit is going to work.

Just because we've been terrible for 5 years means things are going to get magically better?
Sure.

Yeap. Any fucking year now. What nonsense.

Why do you care if he is encouraged just a different point of view, It s a better place to be as a fan after 2 games with an entire season in front of you, than where you seem to be.
If this team is as crappy as you profess it to be, there will be plenty of time to be discouraged later.
We played Teddy Bridgewater and Taylor Heinicke and lost. What happens when we start played Brady/Dak/Mahomes ect...
If this team is as crappy as you profess it to be, there will be plenty of time to be discouraged later.
Because it's sad to see people who are cheery in connection with a group of losers. It's like a "come on, you should know better"

To reiterate joeinpa's comments, again, why do you care? Do you feel compelled to drag others down with you? Is life that miserable? It's football, it blows to lose the way the Giants have in these 2 games as well as most of the past decade. However, if people want to see the positives and have optimism for the future, then why do you feel the need to comment and get them to be as miserable as you seem to be in your posts?
I was encouraged by last night even in a loss and moral victories suck but i saw positives..
Now if they lose at home to atlanta, all hell is going to break loose
I get all of that too, I look at our stats, facts, team, history and everything else. But I'm putting more on coaching than players executing.
Maybe as a fan its just better to be happy/optimistic for 6 days and disappointed for 1 day - then to be gloom & doom 7 days a week.
This team reeks of failure for 5 years now!
5 straight years at 0-2?

Ok, if that s how you feel. But, I m one of those that likes to stay involved in a season by hoping for the best, which requires me to be optimistic. As a result I often do not agree with your takes here, I read them, because I like to hear opinions of other Giants fans, but they don’t make me sad.
I enjoy the back and forth banter I try to never make it personal, I find it makes Bbi a still enjoyable experience.

Huh? I am keeping it about football here. Saying the team blows you should know better.
They let Taylor Heinike throw for about 75% and over 300 yards. Plus, they let him put together scoring drives at the end of the first half and the end of the game. That two play "drive" was something to give you reason for optimism too.
As for the offense, keep in mind they got two touchdowns to Washington's three. They couldn't put it in the end zone when they needed to like after Board's penalty. Yeah, it was a WTF moment, but they still only had 20 yards to go. They got stopped at the 5. They couldn't gain any yards after the interception where a first down almost guarantees the win. The penalty and sack that took them out of field goal range was a nice touch too.
Yup, a lot of reasons for optimism.

You're posting on a thread about football, yes, but why feel the need to be a condescending dick to people? Telling them to "fuck off" for having an optimistic point of view? If you don't share that belief, then fine, I'm sure no one would hold you over the coals for it.
I get it, the team has sucked for a while now and kick to the nuts losses like last night have happened more times than not in the last decade. But if you're that miserable watching, calling the team trash constantly, etc. Then why watch? Why continue to come on the site to just bitch and moan all the time?
1974 New York Giants. Finished 2-12, but had Craig Morton at QB, and a decent defense. Team had been at best mediocre since 1963, so things had to get better, right? That's what we thought then:
1975: 5-9
1976: 3-11
1977: 5-9
1978: 6-10, topped off by "The Fumble" that finally brought the house down, leading to the NFL assigning George Young as the GM, and the start of brighter days.
Don't think it can't get worst unless we have a competent GM. It can get bad...REALLY bad!
c'mon Giants fans, strap up, long season ahead

The Giants record the last four seasons are comparable to their record from 1975 - 1978. So they are pretty much at the rock bottom now. Things can't get much worse unless they finish 0 - 17 or 1 - 16.
15 games to play. That’s a lot of space for the Giants to get on a roll starting next Sunday. Get to 2-2 and it’s a whole new season. Even 1-3 isn’t catastrophic if the Giants win their division and conference games and upset the Rams and maybe a Tampa along the way. As disappointing as last night’s is to think about today, it’s way too early to give up hope.

Lol. Encouraged? By what? They lost again in the same stupid fashion. Sloppy football. Same old shit. Shooting themselves in the foot. Dumb penalties. Bad coaching. Washington was begging to lose this game and with a backup QB on top of all that.

This is the kind of thinking that sounds like "I don't care if this hamburger might have e.coli, it tastes pretty good right now, and I'll have plenty of time tomorrow to figure out the consequences!"
There is nothing wrong with being optimistic, and also nothing wrong with being realistic. And with yet another 0-2 start, it certainly appears that we're still cellar dwellers. And the math says that we're the worst team in the NFL for the past half-decade. But I guess we have plenty of time left this year to accept that, right?
