Continuity on offense and defense

It’s clear this team has still been in preseason mode when you look at the results the last two games. Jones is pretty much dialed in on throwing to only Shepard and Slayton again. He doesn’t seem to be in rhythm at all with Golladay, either over or under throws him every time. Rudolph has been invisible. I’m thinking as the season goes on those guys will be involved, but it proves how important it was for none of these guys to have any time together before week 1.

On defense, I have noticed that Williams does not look as dominant. Hate to say it, but this is probably why they should have prioritized Tomlinson over signing Adoree Jackson. Especially when you turn around and draft two more corners a month after signing Jackson.

The big thing last year was that inside pressure and disrupting the QB. We aren’t seeing that this season and it’s putting huge pressure on the secondary. In a zone scheme with no pressure up front you are going to get picked apart.

Got sacks last year because of the coverage on the back end. And by sacks, it was primarily Leonard Williams. It didn't feel like Graham was calling so much depth between the secondary and the line of scrimmage.

The Tomlinson stuff is cringe. He is paid $10M per and he is not worth that. Let's not pretend he was this force getting huge snap counts and pressures, because he didn't. His play elevated as soon as Leonard Williams came in. It was wise to move on. If they miss any missing DL, it's Hill.
good points eric

looks like we miss DT more than most, including myself were anticipating.

And there were a few times when I was wondering where's Leo. Williams? Is he playing? Had to look closely to see him kind of slow dancing w someone.

Not good.
don't know for sure but I think

Tomlinson's absence is most evident in not stopping the run. They were gashing us right up the middle.

Williams looked like his "motor" wasn't all there.

Agreed on his impact on the run D. I also think he was good at occupying multiple offensive lineman which gave Williams a little more room to run.
