in neutral zone, it's by an inch, which is a ticky tack fucking call. How is there not a sideline shot of that, and how is it not reviewable. Honestly, when I saw the replay I thought there was a chance he wasn't and now I'm like 50/50. Regardless, not even mad because it never should have came down to their kicker.
down the line view is where his helmet is lined up. When he launches is only one part of it, and remember, the helmet is often the first body part to launch.

You’re certainly right about that but I really doubt he was lined up offside. I think they called that on the movement which looked obvious from some views until you see the timing of the snap and his movement together. Doesn’t matter now in any case.
what's the difference. They're not gonna go back and change the call. If he thought there was nothing wrong, why didn't he continue on through the WFT line?
Plus it looks like his helmet is in the neutral zone.
Actually my bad, not him trying to jump back. Still looks like his helmet was in the neutral zone. Youtube link below
And why do that at all when you are lined up right over the center?!? Why give the refs any grounds for a flag? Link - ( New Window )
That YouTube link doesn’t show anything about where his helmet is lined up. It’s the same perspective as I posted buy wider. And you can see just about what you can see with the video I posted but I think not as clearly.
I don't know what's going on with that Instagram post, but hey, it's Instagram, it's gotta be accurate, right?
I'm not so sure about that. If you watch the gif Bill posted, the snapper lifts the ball towards the defense before snapping it back. You can't see that from the YouTube vid. Dex is allowed to move once the ball moves. Although I do think what we see on the YT vid iss more in line what the line judge saw (albeit from a different angle). He likely never saw the snapper lift the ball up before snapping it back.
Dex’s forward movement and the ball movement are identically timed.
Generally, when a player lines up in the neutral zone they say that when announcing the penalty. Very disappointed there was no other view shown by NFL Network. I still think the linesman called it because he moved before the other linemen.
Unfortunately this is a great get off but the ball wasn't snapped and this is a fundamental football issue. I mean the ball is right there. The ball moves - you move!
He very well might NOT have been off side. But you can’t risk having it look like it ( and getting penalized) for exactly the reason it played out, Hopkins got a second chance. He wasn’t missing it. There was nothing to be gained by trying to time the snap count. He’s not JPP, he’s not blocking anything.
Just joking.
He doesn't think Evan Engram is going to the hall of fame.

Nice! And (obviously) funnier than I was.
Why's that? It looks to me, as it always seems, that the arms are outstretched forward meaning his head would be more in the elbow/forearm area?
I wonder if he didnt stutter and just went if they would of thrown the flag, the stutter made it look like he jumped
Please, please Mr. Moderator. Have mercy on me!

I even said to myself last night, did he move at the same time of the ball.
It looks fine from that shot, and I doubt he lined up offsides.
I guess, though, HE LOOKED offsides because he was so quick.
Sucks to be us.
This team has a lot of things to fix if they are going to win football games
