If not for the off-side penalty

how different would things have been around here for the past 18 hours or so? They still would have played the same horseshit football game. Would a sloppy win have tempered the frustration of an awful loss, or would you have been pretty much just as pissed off?
Pissed off? No, but highly skeptical of this team

moving forward. In fact, in the long run it’s probably best we lost that game tbh because Judge would have been able to justify that bullshit internally because they won. If this isn’t a giant wake up call, I don’t know what is.

this team started slow last year and for the last 10 to be honest. maybe more. one side of the ball is always slow to start. even 2007 the defense was a MESS the first two weeks.

getting the right calls ALL game would've been nice.

Playoffs and not is thin. Good teams do what is needed to win these types of games.

Wouldn't change my assessment of the level of talent/coaching...but yeah...Id feel a lot better if they had gotten the W. Every game matters.
Yes, a Sloppy Win

would have us focused more on the positives, Daniel Jones great game, an offensive line that played hard and had some success after losing its best player, better play-calling from that Garrett guy, Graham Gano, who may be the best kicker in the game right now, a little more progress from Saquon, and a tough win on the road against a division opponent.

We still would have rightly bitched about the defense, about defensive playmakers not making plays, about the terrible sequence after the int. All that stuff in the first paragraph happened. Except for the last thing. It feels different when you lose the game.
I'd still be second guessing the strategy after

the interception, the power running game with Barkley didn't instill confidence. The incompletion to Slayton I can live with, because they are at least trying to keep the defense honest, but that last drive...just a total head scratcher. We were living and dying with Jones the whole game, to go into a shell at that point, I still can't wrap my head around it.
There's no "sloppy" asterisk

you get a W or L.

I'd take sloppy W after sloppy W right through the hideous SB win, and iffy parade execution, with questionable coaching decisions when trying to avoid the Gatorade.

To quote a lousy owner, "Just Win, Baby."

Agree 100%. How many of us remember Daniel Jones' first win? That only happened when the Tampa Bay kicker missed a shorter field goal than the one this past Sunday on the last play of the game after the Giants gave up a long reception by not double teaming the opponent's best receiver going long.
The defense still played like crap

But there would have been relief, and some hope.
The Giants out-played the Skins
mittenedman : 9/18/2021 8:54 am : link
and deserved to win. The DJ TD run that was taken off the board & the offsides call were the difference in the game.

You can get pissed, but it's true. Officiating cost them a W.
