BBI has already cut Dexter for being a "fat, lazy" fuck.
It was still moronic, he was trying to time the snap (which he did successfully apparently). Big no no I’m that situation. This team is so poorly coached it’s the most bumming thing of this whole season (so far). I thought it was the one thing we had down Pat. Wonder how Mara feels about paying for 100 coaches and assistants right now. Might go full Bengals owner and start penny pinching. If you are going to suck might as well save!
If this is true, very big black eye for that crew which had some pretty dubious calls last night.
Agreed. The refs were not good for either team.
I think the Giants got the short end - the non call on Golladay's 1st deep pass with the DB holding his left arm; the mythical/dubious hold on Jones TD run; they called Bradberry over McLurin's back, yet did not call the safety climbing up Rudolph's back..

I get that Judge is a relatively new HC and he too will make mistakes. But it really bothers me to see him make that red flag challenge in Week 1 and this ultra-conservative approach on both sides of the ball so far.
Then again, we had Tom Coughlin's Giants burning timeouts as a result of failing to get snaps off on time for YEARS uncorrected. So perhaps all coaches make blunders and we're just hypersensitive to it because we've been so bad for so long.
No sideline video of the LOS. Lawrence read the flex of the snappers arms and went on the snap. There was some piss poor officiating in this game. Inexcusable mistakes. The holding block on DJ's was beyond incompetent.

They had a few more in total. I did think the QB roughing call on Chase was absurd and, I believe, kept one of our early drives alive...?

The PI on Young was legit according to the rules. He did not need to land on Jones. We are from the period when that was acceptable and is still ok in college, so I see what you are saying. But the league is going overboard on protecting the QB. Had Young twisted a little bit, it would have been fine.
The WTFs had more called against, but they were very legit calls. And I think there were a few holdings that were not called, too.

There is a lot of subjectivity in that roughing call. It's called too much and inconsistently from game to game and ref to ref.
On that Chase Young call, Young got to Jones as Jones was fading away and throwing. Hard to defy gravity on that one...

It wasn't the hit, it was landing on top of Jones. You are not allowed to land with your full weight on top of the QB when tackling him. Especially when the ball is out.

I get the "tie goes to the runner" approach by always favoring the QB.
But there are times when the play is so bang-bang, and the tackle is pretty picture perfect, that I really feel for defender.
The Chase one is called 9/10 times in the NFL. It’s against the rules
You aren’t allowed to drive a QB into the ground and it’s done to protect shoulders and collarbones. Would t happened in that case, but it’s still the rule and you can do things to make sure you don’t. We don’t see it called nearly as much because defenders have adjusted, at least the veteran ones.

I think Romo's ribs were broken on a similar play.
We are agreeing it used to be ok and still ok in college, I think, but like touching the QBs helmet, you get called even if just a brush.
Kay...is absolutely unlistenable. I can't even watch Yankees games anymore because of him.
Turn the sound off. I do it frequently.
+1
Kay really thinks people tune in just to hear his hokey "there it goes--see ya" home run calls. He's so proud of himself and it's grating.
Anyway, between the Yankees losing on a wild pitch with two outs in the 9th and two strikes on the .190-hitting backup catcher who'd already struck out 3 times that game and then the Giants flushing a game they should have won, it was a rough night.
Of technology for calls like this, first downs, TDs. It would seem to be fairly easy to implement as they could leverage other sports advancements (tennis, soccer).
He did say “homosexual”….
He was being careful
Baby steps people
Try to encourage and explain instead of shaming.
Im sure he meant Kay is a victim of a society that wouldn’t allow him to love whom he chose - and internalizing that pain has made him externalize in a an annoying way.
And yeah, I agree that the NFL should just give the Giants the win.
My guess of what will happen is that Goddell calls Mara, apologizes, and tells him he will make it up to him with something less obvious
The weirdest part about that play was the fact that the flag was thrown from the secondary. There is a line judge whose entire job it is to call offsides and false starts. Whey would a ref that's 100 feet away, with no way to see the ball throw that flag? That seems really fishy.
(btw the majority of bets were on Wash for the spread and NY for the money line so the bookies made a killing, winning both sides of the betting.)
Yes, in our heart of hearts. In reality we get an L and a sorry pal and we're sent on our way.
I initially was skeptical and unless DL was actually lined up in the neutral zone, there was no way he was offside.
And they would never overturn it, because there would have to have been on more snap and even in that time would run out. Even if there was a fumble.

And not saying that thread wasn’t ducking unbelievably stupid overreacting.
Needs to be reviewable.
