Lived in Philly at the time (suburbs now). Started drinking heavily when they fell behind big. Then they pull off the comeback, I'm hammered, and somehow out on the corner in front on my building in a Shockey jersey taking shit at every single car that drove by. Still one of my favorite games.
when I first pulled up the video it said something like down by twenty with 13 minutes left in a 37 minute video and I'm like "damn that's like my first marriage. 13 years but felt like 37 except unlike Giants game my divorce was a happy moment"
And then I played the video and near the end I thought it was gunna be an edited NFL Meme video with a sudden clip of Washington kicking a winning field goal from like 78 yards out even though they were playing Philly because that is somehow the only way the Giants haven't lost a game.
Happy ending. Happy memories.
Anyways, side note, never get Chinese food anywhere in places like Maine. It doesn't add up. The math ends bad. In negative numbers most of the time. Like ordering an egg plant parm at a bar in North Korea
I've always liked it to a scene in Rocky II where the trainer is trying to convince Apollo that he shouldn't want a rematch with Rocky. Is was something like, "He's all wrong for you. I've never seen a guy take that much of a beating... and the man kept coming."
Still pisses me off that we wasted the back half of his career with crap talent around him.

Classic. & I think we've all been there.
And some of the same dregs bailing out on Jones now
comeback. I think Jones has the ability to match Eli's career, not counting the SBs because that takes a lot going right for you. I do think that Eli had more of a clutch gene than Jones which was huge.

Re-watching that clip actually makes me think the gap between Eli and Jones is even wider than I thought and that the probability of Jones getting to Eli's caliber is incredibly low.

The win against the Broncos his second year did it for me and his win against the Cowboys his Rookie year.

Early career Eli is seriously underrated.
I highly agree with that statement. People always talk about his picks as if we through 30 a year. Yes he led the league a few times, but he also was usually always in the top ten in all stats, usually higher. If/when he had time he could pick anyone apart.
I watched the disappointing first half, then recorded the second half so I could go see my son play soccer. A couple guys sitting behind me were talking about the game and I had to cover my ears and walk away. Went home and watched an incredible comeback.
They got some luck bounces to win that game.
God Eli threw some ugly passes and then absolute beauties.
