After all the woulda, coulda, shouldas, what irks me most is the very end.
Washington down 2 points with just a few seconds left. They miss a 48-yard FG wide right. Clock says 0:00. Giants Win 29-27!
The Giants Win!
Nope.
Can't seem to shake the "Nope."
You've got me by a few years.
But the early 60s are quite vivid!
From 1961-1963 they won nearly 80% of the time, and then... and then 1964 and into the abyss.
Not only that, a victory, with Jones playing so well, was a chance for some very positive momentum going forward.
I still think there s a chance the Giants can contend for the NFC East, we ll see.

Should add, The lingering is. Disappointed, not something that impacts the way I conduct myself or live my life, don’t want to give the wrong impression here.
Giants football has always been about family and a diversion from the more serious aspects of life.
Like all sports, it s more fun when you win, but even with that disappointing loss, I m looking forward to the rest of the season
I did have a hard time going to sleep Thursday night but I have already moved on to the Atlanta game next Sunday.
It is part of Giants fans DNA.
Put them on the emotional back burner until they show there's a reason to expect a better outcome. Some might say that's a bit of fair weather friend. So be it. If they can suck as a team, I can suck as a fan.
Even if that is true, they did everything they could on defense to lose that game. Wining because a makeable field goal is missed as the game ends is not a long term winning formula. And a team should not put themselves in a position where the officials can determine the final results especially when playing a not so good team with a backup quarterback.
What I’m alarmed by is Judge’s performance the last couple of months. I thought he was a leader who could raise the franchise’s standards. Am wondering whether that is delusional.
I’m also suspicious that Giants fans are so beaten down we are grasping at straws and looking for a savior. And that Judge isn’t a savior but a promising but inexperienced young coach who looks to be in a sophomore slump.
Should have never been in that position. Bad teams find bad luck. Also there’s zero reason to even try to jump that snap.
I wish it wasn't a Thursday night game because now we have to wait a much longer time than if it were a Sunday game.
I'm more bothered by all the mistakes in this game that could have been an easy victory for the Giants. But instead I keep thinking about the drop, the so so holding call, conservative play after the interception, and of course the offsides call on the field goal. I still think the Giants should've won this game and by a comfortable margin.
Totally agree. I believe in self fulfilling prophecy and this team finds a way to lose and can’t figure out how to win. I remember watching a Pittsburg game against Cleveland and my friend who was a Browns fan saying just watch they’re going to lose. I’m that person now.
I’ve had to use the same self talk when I play golf not to my liking. It seems to help….
One other thing I do….stay away from the media until at least 24 hours have gone by from the moment the pain began.
There is still a chance to have a good season but not if they lose to Atlanta.
Or not so funny, is when Washington lined up for the 48 yard FG, I was pretty sure they were gonna make it.
And, then, when I saw the ball drifting wide right I felt surprised, relieved and then elated in rapid succession.
And then all that was wiped clean.
And so it goes!
Bring on Atlanta!
It's only a game!
When they don't, I'm pleasantly surprised.
When they do, I look at it as a normal, everyday, occurance.
46 yard field goal, onside kick recovered=TD, on side kick again recovered=TD,
two point conversion Hamilton AZ wins, the end
try topping that
I had hope that Judge could deliver, but the man can't coach to save his life. He's outmatched in every way.
I'm fairly certain that this is Gettlemen's last year.
I’m also likely repeating that Patrick Graham should be held accountable. The defense played like garbage.
2) the refs for that phantom holding call on Board
3) the defense for continually just playing off receivers

But He was offsides…..
I mean, they're so dumb, they're so bad, they're not building anything significant. None of the players or coaches have done anything on the field that would create a connection with the fans. But some people - adults even - are still emotionally engaged. Its remarkable really.
As that announcer said in Seinfeld, you've gotta love sports.
I admit, I thought they would continue to move forward and win 8-9 games this year. That may or may not be enough for the division this year, but it is almost certainly not getting a WC. But, with the opening 2 losses, even 7 wins seems like a huge longshot based both on their schedule and how this team has looked.
I know this also may sound crazy but when you also have fantasy football, you can get some satisfaction out of some weekly victories there. No, it is not the Giants but it does not leave you completely empty after a football weekend.
I think if they lose to Atlanta, many of the fans pick up new hobbies during the fall.
Lets hope for a win!
