is not really Vick, but Vick was one of my favorite players to watch. The speed and elusiveness he had at quarterback was as rare to me as Bo Jackson's power and speed. Vick also had a tremendous arm. He was criticized for his accuracy, but I think possibly that his accuracy was not the issue, but rather his commitment to the game. Vick admitted that he did not spend time watching film, he basically relied on his amazing physical abilities which is shame. To me, a quarterback can look less accurate if they are late with the football, or indecisive where they need to go with the football.
Again, I know not the topic, just wanted to chime in with my Vick view.
I thought twitter was screening and banning people for racism?
Imagine the outrage if we called a black QB "Chocolate Rodgers"
Thank god we’ve got you here, Eric, to point out that there is in fact a double standard. And, yes, when one group is historically marginalized, oppressed, and in fact, enslaved, while the other is the group in power, there are indeed differences in how the ‘same’ action or behavior is not perceived in the same manner. You are correct that it is more complicated than that. Hope you’re enjoying your breakfast.
And, btw, people describe other people as ‘Chocolate X’ all the time, to nobody’s outrage.

I don't know. I'm more so liking Chocolate Rodgers more and more as each second goes by.

Take a deep breath wigs. It’s gonna be OK.

Absolutely. I just thought that pointing out that there’s a double standard was really astute and added alot to the conversation. I’ve never seen anyone say that before.
they managed to find a worse name than Danny Dimes and I hope he has a better career than Vick. Besides that miraculous 2010 season, he was a poor passer throughout his career.
was a schoolteacher in Newark NJ named Virginia Williams. It happened another, black teacher had the same name so my aunt was known as Vanilla Williams.

Maybe but besides Vick being the most fun to watch athlete of my lifetime, his teams did achieve more and already won a playoff game faster than Jones and help lead to a team to the NFC Title game. This revisionist history that Vick never did anything team wise is wrong.
Perhaps we should open up the offense like Baltimore has done for their QB. DJ is a good runner and a better passer than Jackson.
The problem is the Giants. Baltimore changed their whole offensive philosophy to fit the strengths of their QB. Meanwhile on the Giants it's reverse, they want the players to fit whatever system the team wants to run. Like the Eagles coach said, it should be about the players first. And if they really believe in their scheme, then draft/sign/trade for the players that fit them. Giants don't do that for some reason.

That is saying a lot especially when you consider Jordan in the conversation. For my money for football I would give Mahomes the nod simply because he makes throws nobody has ever done before while also being an exceptionally mobile qb with pinpoint accuracy. On top of which he avoids the interceptions that typically go with those highly aggressive throws.
Thursday night DJ showed everyone that he has the tools to become a dynamic playmaker in today's NFL. There is no reason why he can't make some of the same plays as Jackson, Murray, Wilson, etc. Instead, this conservative offense is withholding his development to get to that level.
Vick was known as a running QB who was a terrible thrower. Jones' "Danny Dimes" nickname was a testament to dropping in tough balls on the money. So, he went from a nickname lauding his penchant for accurate deep balls to one hinting at him being a bad QB who can run.

I thought it was because Jones trains dogs to fight.

I really don’t think that’s the reference. They don’t literally mean he’s the exact same player. The reference is to his legs because he’s so damn fast. It’s also catchy because many people don’t look at Daniel Jones and expect him to be the 2nd fastest straight-line speed QB in the entire NFL and yet he is.
... You're likely not mature enough to be included in the conversation.
Danny Dimes it's a far better nickname because guess what it's about Daniel Jones.
It's not a great nickname but why does he need one.
Is the young kid it's trying to find his way as an NFL quarterback.

On a side note - what do you expect from Twid?iots
Agreed. Danny Dimes is the worst nickname ever lol

Isn't our D coordinator nicknamed Black Picasso? Didn't we have a tight end who called himself the Black Unicorn?

Wigs, it's something we all do around here at times.
We already had the Hefty Lefty/Pillsbury Throwboy RIP
Yo VIP, let's kick it!
Except for maybe Vanilla Vick.
Sounds like the same guy came up with both of them.

I loved DD - what a character ... lol.

Context obviously matters— referencing color is not automatically “racist.” Here is a list of NBA nicknames that have all referenced race:
Black Hole (Armen Gilliam)
Black Jesus (Earl Monroe)
Black Magic (Earl Monroe)
Black Mamba (Kobe Bryant)
Black Superman (Billy Ray Bates)
Chocolate Reign (Anthony Morrow)
Chocolate Thunder (Darryl Dawkins)
White Chocolate (Jason Williams)
White Mamba (Brian Scalabrine)
Whitey (Johnny Macknowski)
Vanilla Gorilla (Joel Przybilla)
Vanilla Thunder (Pat Connaughton)
Danny Dimes it's a far better nickname because guess what it's about Daniel Jones.

I like to refer to him as Daniel Jones.
