I’m not writing this to criticize them. I’m doing so to point out that playing QB in the nfl is hard, especially with a bad team (and against good defenses). Keep this in mind when you’re quick to judge qb play.
Hopefully they both improve.

You can be all-world in college and get crushed in the NFL
first 2 picks were on tipped overthrows, the 3rd one was bad, and I missed the 4th one.
The Jets D plays with quick play recognition.
They’re going to be excellent once the fill in the blanks with the draft picks they have the next 3 years.

There's already buzz that he'll end up at USC — which is a much better fit for him than any HC gig in the NFL. It's a whole different thing coaching experienced men than molding boys right out of high school.

Pete Carroll was already an NFL head coach with the Jets and Patriots before going to USC. Carroll was essentially an NFL head coach in a college position with USC
Tom Coughlin was a Giants assistant coach before going to Boston College. He only spent a short amount of time in college before returning to the NFL. Coughlin is for the most part an NFL coach.
Kliff Kingsbury at the moment is 14-18-1 in the NFL
with a really good young QB in Murray. I'd argue he's underachieved because Arizona has a lot of talent and should be at least a wild card team.
Let's see what happens in Carolina before we crown Matt Rhule as a great coach. He went 5-11 last year and is off to a good start this season, but I'll believe it when I see it with his team and Darnold at QB

Zach Wilson should have gotten a few weeks holding a clipboard with a caretaker QB in front of him. Now he's got both his starting tackles injured. I fear that could be a David Carr situation if it's not handled right

Carrol was a college coach prior to being an NFL coach. Saban also spent time as an asst in the NFL, pretty sure he was with BB in Cleveland. So the list of National Champion coaches in the NFL as head coaches as jimmy johnson and urban Meyer is you want to nit pick resumes. My point was Meyer is a good coach, Lawrence isn’t in a horrible situation.

Who gives a fuck? He wasn't replaced. The excuses may or may not have been valid, but he's still under center for the Giants.
Why do some fans want the same excuses to be extended for our players without realizing that excuses are just talk. If the player is still playing, the excuses are being extended for that player too, even if the media and fanbase aren't the ones using the excuses.
Had the most impressive combined run between college and NFL. USC was in a bad place. He rebuilt it. Then did the same with Seattle.

I think he said I can do it a lot quicker at Alabama which was a dumpster at the time. If the Giants tanked and Mara went outside he would be my number 1 to rebuild the football operations. He would have total control and hire everyone.

Herbert was criticized on the 4pm game thread. The INT in the end zone was very poor.
Yet, anyone who has watches Herbert play for five minutes should want to take him over Jones without any hesitation.
That's pretty significant, unless you're doing the thing where we pretend it makes sense to compare rookies and guys with less than one year on the job to a guy who has had the benefit of 3 offseasons of NFL coaching. High level, name brand QB whisperers worked with Daniel Jones in college and in year one.
