than you’re worth and still being mad. Mediocre player that should have no say in anything but will because the structure of the nba sucks.
And mad why? Because he refuses to shot and got called out for it? I for one hope Philly doesn't cave into his request to be traded.
This is a joke. He makes big money and is counted on to be a difference maker for that team, but he absolutely refuses to shoot outside of the paint. Nor does he put the time in to be a better shooter.
He only wants one of the Cali teams so the only resolution to this mess is to tell him he’s been traded and then hand him his one way ticket to Cleveland. (No offense, hitdog).

I’m still waiting for the day an owner just says fuck it and makes a player rot and rot for their entire contract. I know why they don’t, but I would absolutely love to see his shitty, miserable, sulking face on the sidelines. I’d actually tune in for it.

BBS, I agree. He's much more interested in being a celebrity than working on his game. I hope he ends up in Minnesota or wherever.
Yes, Simmons is a fuckin moron and is completely out of his mind but the Sixers are dumb for not moving him sooner. This only gets worse from here. Their asking price was astronomical and now they will legitimately get pennies on the dollar for how they handled it.
Ha! Yeah I’m assuming Dame gives Portland one more season.

Of course. That goes without saying. It’s not the rest of the league’s fault that they ranked for 5 straight seasons and they are desperate to not waste those wasted years. Their window to sucker another team into taking on Simmons based on hype and name recognition is long gone.
Simmons has never gotten better and everyone expected his game to progress.
He is a solid 2nd or 3rd option on a playoff team
I agree they should have moved him right after the season and not let it get to this point.
Can be much of a market for him maybe OKC they have picks, team him with SGA and giddy.
I still can't get over how bad Simmons was this postseason. That play where he passed up a gimme dunk to pass it...that was lame AF.
And he’s a max player that flat out refuses to shoot. And he has the gall to say he won’t play another game for the Sixers. So he’s going to go to another team and do the same? Are they too supposed to be ok with that?
After both his head coach and Embiid through him under the bus after the Hawks series there was just no way he was going to be able to walk back in to that locker room. He's also been getting a ton of grief from the fans as well since that series.
All of it is deserved of course - but at this point, playing this year for the Sixers would be a hostile work environment for him.
And he's already paid.
The only part of this ordeal that's surprising is that the Sixers haven't been able to trade him by now.
If he had a different attitude on the court and off, I would want the Knicks to go buying low on him. But it’s not so much of him being a bad shooter, it’s his refusal to shoot and fear of being fouled.
I forget who said it- maybe Barkley, but they said the major difference between him and Giannis is their fear of being made fun of at the free throw line. Giannis simply doesn’t care while Ben is scared shitless of it.
Maybe he turns it around- he has incredible talent. But being that big of a zero on offense who refuses to participate is the worst thing in playoff basketball. You can’t hide that.
It will be interesting to see how long his market is. But coupled with his attitude I would guess most teams don’t want any part of him.

This is mess for the Sixers. The problem is they fancy themselves a title contender so they can't just give him away for 50 cents on the dollar. If he was due for a pay day within a year or 2 it would be easier, but he's signed to that huge contract warts and all. They'll have to find some acceptable deal or get 3rd and 4th teams involved but it's tricky.
What are the odds that you draft TWO straight #1 picks who can't or won't shoot? (Fultz and Simmons)
Since 2013, when the Process began, the Sixers haven't been to an Eastern conference finals. In that span teams like the Celtics, Hawks and Heat have reformatted themselves on the fly and made it, multiple times.
Ordinarily I would say just dump Simmons for whatever you can get, but the clock is ticking on Embiid's prime, so Morey is under pressure to get as much as he can in return. It's very possible they'll never be able to build a true contending team around Embiid, which is a shame.
HE is an elite defender, probably the best in the NBA (big men get all the recognition), he is unselfish, he can rebound, and plays above the rim.
The shooting thing almost negates all of it, but he can be a difference maker.
He needs to be on a team with a good-shooting big, so he can take his man to the post on occasion. He's just a liability any time he's out on the perimeter.

The Fultz selection never made sense especially since was a Mini Simmons. And to think Tatum was sitting right there and an absolute perfect fit between Simmons and Embiid.
this is a hot mess and for a guy who wants out of town, Simmons is not helping himself with all of his nonsense (just shut up and post videos of you making 3's; that'll help)
going back over past 8+ years... they have put together a very good team but there are so many bad misses during that time that you can't help but call this "Process" a bust.
Fultz, Okaefor, Shamet, Michael Carter Williams... when so many better players were on the board.
I think Philly has a ring by now if they keep Butler.
I agree with this. Unfortunately, Butler had issues with Brett Brown and also wasn't particularly fond of Simmons. Sixers had to choose between him or them - in hindsight they probably should have supported Butler.
Don't think Simmons gets traded until December or the Trade Deadline
my teammate and head coach came out in the media and MFed me after a game, I'd want to leave too. I know emotions were high after some of those playoff games but come on.
Sixers players wanted to come to LA to talk with him,
Dude needs to learn how to shoot. & it's amazing how much the 76ers babied him.

This should have been a real easy decision for the Sixers

Haha. Your guy!
unless they trade Simmons for Dame, lol....

the Knicks should be the favorites when Dame asks out. Do it, Philly!

That would be an epic mistake by Portland

He becomes a big fat zero in the playoffs, when your paid 40 million you cant be a zero..
His passing is more him being afraid to shoot he doesnt really play point guard anymore, he is a big who cant shoot noe
