He’s the 4th best player on their front. Been saying since he was drafted. Most overrated player in the league. If he was a 2nd round pick nobody would be labeling him a stud. His draft selection has surpassed his actual on field production. Sweat is the best edge they have and it’s not close
I’m not sure we should be writing anyone off at 0-2. He commanded double teams and DJ did not have a clean pocket for most of the game
Especially when our big money dlineman has been invisible
Flowers made Leonard Williams near-invisible.
As much as we all love to rag on Flowers, and with good reason based on his play at OT for the Giants, he is by most accounts doing a pretty decent/good job at OG. Not really sure why we didnt try changing his position while he was still a Giant.
Can't say he was overrated! He was a beast and very disruptive. The entire DLine seemed to disappear in the 2nd half...different scheme, conditioning, DJ running more, solid OLine play? I don't know the reason but their pass rush was terrible late in the game.
to DJ and the RPO by spreading their DEs out very wide. They were there to stop the runs but effectively took themselves out of the pass rush. Just my view.
RE: Funny, when he didn't show up in big games at OSU
kind of like a certain RB we all know. His "sacks" are plays where the QB is forced to move and runs right into him. He can't play the run. He can't disengage from blockers. Once an OL or TE gets his hands on him he's out of the play. What he can do is run and hit hard on the run.
Do not think for one second I'm comparing him to the greatest defensive player in NFL history but they were both the #2 picks in their drafts. When LT came into the NFL and teams realized how fast he was they tried to run right at him. There was no business there at all, so even though he could chase down from behind they still ran away from him until Carl Banks showed up.
Not really sure why we didnt try changing his position while he was still a Giant.
They wanted to move him to guard but he whined about it. He never wanted to leave LT. Whined that he couldn't get along with Pat Flaherty who was a phenomenal OL coach for the Giants. Flaherty got fired, and the OL was never the same. Whined about the Giants looking at tackles in FA. Whined that the Giants signed Nate Solder and avoided practice.

Is a "generational talent". Just like they label above average QB s as Franchise QBs. So people expect LT. Sure Young is a good young player but generational? That means one of a kind to me. Those guys are Gold Jacket guys and so people go after them.
Saquon was voted the best RB in the NFL by general managers, scouts, and players. He was named the top RB before his ACL injury. Was he voted the top RB because he is a media creation?

He’s a good young player.
Maybe get credit for half a sack
Some of these guys coming out are really over hyped. It's always been like that, but it seems like it's gotten worse.

Leonard Williams 2 QB hits

You don't see the explosion I would expect to see
He’s a good young player.
Stats!!!
Um, yeah, you don't think he will get double and triple teamed in the NFL, by way better players?

That means his teammates should be making plays like SB should make it open up for the O once Play-Action has to be respected.

If you have access to it go back and watch week one Washington vs LAC and watch how LAC with a crap OL ran the ball down his throat. The link is some of his lowlights.

He didn't want to.

More like he refused to.
