Kevin Boss Interview

gmen9892 : 9/22/2021 1:36 pm
Pretty good Kevin Boss interview on nygiantsrush.com.

Boss seems like an awesome dude, and I was really sad to see him go. Injuries/concussions caught up to him, but you could sense how badly he wanted to stay in New York before taking a deal in Oakland.

A huge part of the 2007 Super Bowl run and I will always have a soft spot in my heart for #89.
Kevin Boss on The Giants Guys - ( New Window )
His big catch and run in the 4th quarter got the offense going again

They hadn't done much after the second drive (when they got inside the ten before the interception that bounced off of Smith's hands), but that play was the catalyst for the first touchdown. Really got the team fired up.
I loved Kevin Boss

and it's no wonder he had to retire early. He made some ridiculously tough catches - many times across the middle or down the seam and he would get lit up.

I used to always joke about how Kevin Boss' mom must have hated Eli Manning.

Particularly that 2009 game against the Cardinals.

He took some shots from Wilson and Rolle that were clearly illegal in slomo and in real time. How they ever cleared him to go back into the game was borderline malpractice.

Wasn't all that long ago, a few years before the whole "League of Denial" book and PBS publication came out.
Very candid interview.

How hurt he was not being on the team for what could have been his 2nd ring. And how he was hoping his phone would ring on his way to Oakland with a reasonable offer from the Giants.
As mentioned above

He made one of the most important plays in NY Giants history in Super Bowl 42. I hope he has a long happy life.
I remember

Him trying to run on that knee on the sidelines and it just giving out. What a warrior!

Loved Boss. & glad he got out when he did...he must have had 5 plus concussions if memory holds.
Boss wasn't a speedster like Engram
Greg from LI : 9/23/2021 12:02 am : link
But he was definitely faster than Jake Ballard.
Boss was awesome
