Any other BBIers here or in surrounding areas? What are some good places around here to watch the Sunday games?

We really like the area so far -- although we're right on the NY/CT border, I've already noticed more Patriots fans around than I would have expected.
I lived in Seymour

Platos : 9/22/2021 2:42 pm : link

LOL...nothing bad to say about LI, but not commuting daily tends to change one's outlook and broaden horizons!
I'm in South Salem off 35

that boarders Ridgefield to the West in NY. We goto Ridgefield all the time, you are going to love it there. You may be seing some Pat's fans around but I'll tell you there are tons of Giants in the area.

Not that long ago, on Sunday mornings we would hand around a deli in CR. All the Giant fans comming from Ridgefield to the Game would stop in and get what they needed for tailgating. I would put a sign on my car that said I Need Tickes. I went to quite a few Giant games that way. 2x they were given to me for free. I love Giant fans..
couple of Colony Pizzas out that way

always a good spot to catch a game. Not familiar with much else outside of Fairfield and Stamford. Stamford is really fun but a bit younger. Brickhouse was my favorite bar to watch games in my 20's.

Man you aren't kidding, my mortgage shot up after a year because my town imposed a huge tax hike. The only plus for me (besides getting Giants, Yankees and Knicks locally) is no stupid car tax and annual inspection along with the idiotic stickers. F you VA.

As of June 2019 yes! I decided that warm weather, outrageous home prices, urban sprawl and mind numbing traffic were not enough anymore. I have a house in East Hampton, that would go for 2-3x what I paid here, I can walk to get most things and everyone is pretty friendly. It's a much slower pace of life, it's really refreshing actually.
welcome lawguy. I'm in Norwalk coming up on 22 years in December.

Grew up on LI, leaving was the best thing I ever did.

Great guess, that's it !
I’m in milford
UConn4523 : 9/22/2021 9:29 pm : link
probably a pain to go 95 side for you but that’s where you’ll find a ton of good bars and restaurants. I haven’t been to Danbury in a while but you’ll find plenty of sports bars there.
I was in Newtown for 20 years
Johnny5 : 9/22/2021 10:11 pm : link
But I just recently moved to New Fairfield. I usually watch the games at Cover2 in Newtown, but there are a number of good places around to catch games.

The Red Rooster in Ridgefield is a good place to catch Giants games, they have a pretty big bar, decent beer selection and a few TVs. I'll meet up with you for a game there sometime this season if you want. Hell we should make a CT Giants game day at one of these places.

We decided to give NJ a shot, bought a house here a year ago. So far my company is standing behind the flexible WFH policy and our HQ is only 30 minutes drive from home, so I'm not stuck/required to commute to Manhattan. We miss NY, mostly the people, but it's a short drive to do something about it. A bit more bang for the buck here, especially over Westchester County. NJ people are definitely different than NY people!

Welcome to the dark side. Or is it the bright side...either way... welcome.
Thanks

It's definitely an easier daily existence living in NJ. Largest pet peeve is no FiOS in our neighborhood and no plan for it to be delivered, so I'm trapped with Optimum for now. And, it's damned difficult to grow a quality new lawn in this subdivision, for some reason. Food is hit or miss, especially pizza!

Thanks - once the kids' sports schedule clear out on Sundays!
