should just stay out for the entire year. Any return won't happen until the very end of the season at the earliest when we will likely be long out of the playoff race. He will also not be in football shape. The best course of action is for him to not play this year in order to maximize his chances of returning next season.

Agreed. Lemieux should not be pressured to patch himself together for the benefit of the present team.

Asked if Nick Gates’ injury could be career ending, Joe Judge said he’d be lying if he said no. Gates is still hospitalized in DC and is undergoing more surgeries. Hope is that he’ll return but not guaranteed.
way too much IMO when it comes to the injury statements to the press.
IIRC Coughlin wasn't like that. He told the media enough but never gave much away or spurred controversy/questions with his answers.
Judge giving the career-ending statement, and now this about Lemieux possibly coming back this year... why?
Unless he's motivating Gates somehow, you're not really endorsing him. With Lemieux, you're now indicating hope for something that's a very low percentage chance.
and surgery, I have no opinion on him coming back early.
He's a football player. They have short careers and the league grinds them up like hamburger, and he knows it. I'm sure he'd prefer to play if he can get on the field. He pretty much proved that by trying to play through that.
I mean, how many guys have we seen try to play through injuries and end up out of football? I mean, Jake Ballard all but ended his career trying to run on a torn ACL on the sidelines in the Super Bowl.
I hope the Giants' medical staff makes the right decision for the guy, whatever that is. He will probably try to push through it, given the choice. Like I said, he's a football player and he wants to play.
In my uninformed opinion, if the team is in contention for a playoff spot in December, or in the playoffs in January, and he can help them, then I don't think holding him for next year makes a lot of sense. If he's healthy enough to come back, he comes back. If he's not, he doesn't. Orthopedic surgeons overtreat pro athletes, knowing the demands they place on their joints. If the doctors and trainers clear him, there may not be anything to be gained by keeping him off the field.
If the team is out of contention, then maybe everyone opts to wait for next summer because what the heck, why take the chance?
I sort of contradicted myself. I guess I do have an opinion.
I have no opinion on whether he should or shouldn't come back early. Leave that to the doctors.
I have an opinion on whether he should be held back once he's cleared. I say no — unless the team is out of contention and he would benefit from more time.
Fine, let’s not rule anything out, but making sure he is 100% for next year seems like the most likely move here
Maybe If additional injures and we go deep in the playoffs ….
Agreed. Lemieux should not be pressured to patch himself together for the benefit of the present team.
I agree, It is probably much wiser to have him miss this season so that he is 100% come training camp.

They resigned Harrison to the PS I believe. He was originally supposed to be the primary backup at C so there's that.
We'll see if they can form a good line, they held up surprisingly well last week.

Just give updates, not insight or opinion.
There's my take lol
