Two big weapons for the Falcons, Ridley and Pitts. I really hope DC weights this gameplan to more man coverage.
Ridley is tremendous, but I would put the bigger, stronger corner James Bradberry on Kyle Pitts and follow him all over the field. I know Pitts hasn't done a lot so far, but he's flashed where his athletcism and speed has been on display. I'm curious if McKinney had experience manning up Pitts in coverage, at times you could play that matchup. Jabril Peppers could also be deployed against Pitts in one on ones. But I like Adoree more on Ridley with deep safety help. I think playing these two this way is a net advantage to the Giants as much as it can be against these two talents.
Not really concerned with Mike Davis. But Cordarelle Patterson could cause problems. Some spying of him with Crowder and matchup with McKinney and Peppers often can negate his speed.
I'm confident in the defensive personnel to man these guys up if deployed correctly. I would be aggressive against this team, no soft zones in this one.
An x-factor is Russel Gage...you might have to take what you can get with Darnay Holmes there, but he's the guy you have to live with if he's the one to beat you.
Discuss.
They drafted Pitts 4th. A number 4 overall TE on a team with a number of gaping holes is only a wise pick if he's super good and you utilize him a ton.

While that's true, last year the Giants were a lot better against TEs. They simply have a lot more athleticism at safety than they've had in years' past with McKinney and Peppers. These guys can at least run with Pitts. Hopefully this will lead to some turnovers in this one.
Gage was hurt against Tampa Bay and, to his credit, gutted out most of the game. He did not look 100% in that effort and it was fair to wonder whether he’d be good to go next weekend against the Giants. Now NFL insider Ian Rapoport is reporting that Gage’s injury is a week-to-week ankle ailment, but calls it a “long-shot” that he’ll play Sunday as of today.
#Falcons WR Russell Gage is considered week-to-week with an ankle injury suffered on Sunday, source said. The team will see on Friday if he can possibly go this week vs the #Giants, though it appears as a bit of a long-shot at first glance.

That's good for the Giants if he's ruled out.
They seem pretty thin at receiver behind him.
I just believe that the strength of the Giants defense, the speed in the secondary, matches up well against the speed of the Falcons on offense. I'm not saying they are going to shut these guys down; they are too talented for that. But they can limit them. It will be interesting if they matchup Bradberry on Pitts, and I think that's the play.
Pass rush needs to come alive.

Good post. The matchups I'm referring to, I think it lends itself well to sending an extra guy or even two at Ryan.

He's 8th in the league so far in times pressured which equates to 25.3% of his drop backs.

Who's the best extra guy or two to send on a blitz? The Giants have primarily been sending Leonard Williams and Dexter Lawrence at the tackles and any combo of two of Lorenzo Carter, Azeez Ojulari and Oshane Ximines.
