a QB was always perplexing to me. Maybe they were trying to get Rodgers or thought they could get a Watson deal. But I'd rather have drafted Fields then wait for the idiots in Houston to do something. Hypothetically is Watson is able to play (I think he is but is not playing because reasons) Denver and WFT made both sense. We lost to both of them so who cares at this point. Houston holding off Watson makes no sense since he's not playing and lessens his value a bit.
I think you guys are completely misinterpreting what I’m saying. I could give a shit about Watson. I’m saying the fact that the Texans didn’t trade him was a disaster.

Trade him when?? The second the allegations came out March 16 his trade value went into the shitter until he’s cleared
A huge hell no! Nelson, Chubb or Allen? That’s a convo to be determined.
If Reese wasn't fired Chubb would be a Giant, some say Allen but I doubt he'd take someone from Wyoming. Chubb would be nice, but like Barkley has injury problems during his career.
No team was going to give Houston a high draft choice for Watson
BigBlue…who cares? I don’t know? Just having a convo about it on a message board because the Texans are playing? Jesus
That’s fine. But you seem legit pissed off about it. That’s what I was try to figure out. Go back and read your posts. There’s definitely an angry tone to them.
what’s Watson’s status? Is he eligible to play or not? They are just letting him sit. They are paying his salary aren’t they? Why aren’t they trading him or cutting him?
Because word is if they try to play him the NFL may have to act as far as a suspension goes. Secondly the Texans don't want him and do not want to risk an injury that might make trading him later impossible. He will NEVER play for the Texans again.
Again - the completely gutless decision to not go for it on 4th and 4 from the opponents 40 yard line - leads directly to a touchdown for the opponent. If you are a HC in the NFL you simply cannot do that anymore.
isn't the same kind of back CMC is and he's not going to be able to run a lot of those plays. he's more a power guy, than a quick acceleration, hard cut guy.
Why would you call a timeout there and then go for the field goal? Just let it expire and get the delay of game. Absolutely stupid.
So kick it from 5 yards further? Maybe they called a play and didn't like the look the defense was giving them. Good old school football ther.
They don't need no analytics nerd to tell them how to play. I think peopl e here look at the Ravens and think that is all ther is to football. They are ignoring dominant athletes; great execution ; and well coached well disciplined team. All the things the Giants currently are NOT. Really, I was watching some of the jints and with Danny boy it was like I was watching a college game for a little while . It was like the airline lost a college teams luggage and they borrowed jints uniforms. RPO, shotgun / short passing like 90 percent of them time etc.
he is better than Darnold. It's too early to say who is better. Last year they were both pretty bad.
My guess is that they both prove to be mid range QBs between #14 and #22. Good enough to play for someone, but probably not good enough to expect a championship run from them unless they land on a dominant roster.
What I’m saying is, he might not get cleared. Every second that he stays on the Texans roster, his trade value is diminished.
But other teams know this too. Nobody’s trading anything more than like a 4th round pick for him right now. The gamble to wait and hope he gets cleared is worth it.
Rumor has it, the Texans already turned down 2 1sts and othe picks before the season started.
You are both playing the short/wrong game. His value is highest when the criminal aspect of this situation is over. Texans can pay him, and not play him, all year (they're going to suck with or without him)...and if the criminal investigation is over, his trade value is through the roof, especially with a weak QB class coming out of college.
In this case, the longer they hold him, the more his value increases...unless he faces jail time (which would've made any trade void anyway).

pretty much this is an exactly correct assessment of the relative leverage and mechanics of this market. I wouldn't say Watson's value increases over time, the Texans will lose opportunity cost, they are stifling a bit until this is worked out, but it is all about the criminal component. If they come through this without a criminal complaint, they will probably get three firsts.
2) Hassan Reddick is on a one year deal. He had a career year and really didn't light it up with pressures on Arizona. But he's looked good. Now if he keeps it up: big deal or CAR loses him
3) Watson being paid right now is ridiculous. Screw the trade chatter. When Ben, Zeke, etc. were suspended, they weren't paid. Why is he not suspended, at least?
Was a 1 point game until Culley punted on the 40. Game was over after that play call.
Um no. Game was over when Darnold marched his team down the field for a second time in a row. And he culkd have done it from mid-field if the Texans went for it, did not get it, and turned it over on downs; instead of his own 10 yard line.
This place really needs to get off of this "new football" shit. At the end of the day ; it still a physical contest. Some nerds meaningless stats do not win games. This team --the jints-- are not going to magically start winning games with a low skill QB; an inexperienced , low skill coach, and pretty much bad football team all around by calling RPOs every down and going for it on 4th down.
Are you related to Watson? Your anger about this is absolutely bizarre. Again, why do you care so much about this?
But who cares?

But whatever. Moving along now.

I find it laughably incompetent that any coach in the modern NFL would punt the ball on 4th and 5 or less from the opponents 40 yard line.

Yeah, and we all said it at the time during the game last Thursday. An incompetent choice.
The Texans are missing several defensive starters IIRC, and have still only surrendered seven points.
right?

He isn't?
I'm not saying Darnold is better than Jones, but he sure the hell isn't inferior to Jones...
