and I attended that game. Kind of surreal. I remember Strahan sprinting onto the field with the American flag. The Giants also took out a full page ad in the KC Star the next day thanking KC for all the support.
I was at that game. I Lived in kansas city at the time
As my father ( who live in KC) got three tickets to the game (him, my son and myself). I remember seeing the Giants team bus going to Arrowhead and they were actually cheered by the KC faithful.
The game itself was great as everyone was in a patriotic mood. They even passed around fireman's boots so folks could put $$ in it for the NYC Fireman. It was an honor as a Giant fan to see another team's fans cheer the NY Football Giants as they came on to the field.

It was also nice that the Giants won that game.
I kicked myself when I realized I completely forgot about the boot being passed around.
I've always kind of liked the Chiefs since that day
I covered that game for Pat Traina. I flew out of Baltimore BWI and it was a ghost town. The same flying back from KC. There were about 10 people on my flight and I watch all of them for any suspicious activity....and I had my monopod at the ready just in case....The fans reaction was surreal, never saw anything like that again for a visiting team.
