I’ve reached desperation mode… Yesterday I had a container of Liquid Fence Deer Repellent crack open in my trunk and now my car smells like it’s number one ingredient- “putrescent whole egg parts”. I’ve tried having the cash wash shampoo the trunk a few times, vinegar and baking soda, re-odorizers, Chemical Guys product but nothing seems to work. Stanley Steemer is booked for a few days but in the meantime my car is unusable without driving like a dog with my head sticking out of the window.
Anyone have any experience helping to remove or neutralize odors cakes in fabric?
If that doesn't work i suggest pulling all of the fabric in your trunk, do some more aggressive shampooing and letting it dry in the sun for a day or two.

I think part two is the only way to solve this. Pull the carpet and shampoo it.
Thanks for the tips thus far.
I left the doors and trunk open all night, with the keys inside. Almost worth having someone take it! We’re usually swarmed with deer and haven’t seen one all day.
Well, you have proved the stuff works. You could collect fees from the neighbors for humane deer control.
The second I saw this thread, I knew someone would post this
Lmao I was going to post this
If they shampooed it, and did a good job, it most likely seeped through and is underneath, which means you got rip up the liner and clean underneath..
The smell may never go away fully
Every car I've owned since has had a trunk or cargo area liner... like a weather-tech. And milk is always transported in a water-proof bag.
For those who have suggested removing the liner. I did that and washed it out but it didn’t all stay in the liner. Some dropped into the underneath portion where the spare sits. And some got in the surrounding fabric. That’s the biggest issue. I called the dealership and replacing the upholstery is very expensive. It’s a lease and the manufacturer is pretty stringent so doing it on my own isn’t an option.
That might be even harder. Think I remove my stink before the Giants do theirs.

Spill a big bottle of Febreeze in there...
