I didn’t read the article in the llink but read elsewhere the NFLPA stepped in and appealed his original suspension down to two games. He continued ahead with his appeal trying to get it to zero and that’s when it came out about trying to bribe the drug test guy.
So now he’s back up to five games and might end up with more lol.
Oh and supposedly this all was about possibly testing positive for weed, which a player can’t be suspended for anyway. His failure to test for something he can’t be suspended for gets him suspended because failure to show for a test is a suspendible offense.
Seriously you can’t make this shit up and is about as dumb as it gets on his part.
drug tests don’t isolate for just weed as far as I’m aware.
No but from the article I read it suggested he knew he’d test positive for weed and either didn’t want that to come out or mistakenly thought he could be suspended for that.
It didn’t sound like he was doing anything else, and thought he could excuse his way out of the missed tests.
Who really knows though? I thought there had to be more in his system but some of these guys aren’t the brightest bulbs.
Bribing your way out of a drug test and then claiming it was for weed
and getting a lesser suspension than what it most likely was for is setting terrible precedence. Goddell should know better as a lawyer. Aren't PED suspensions 6 games?
LT used to get people to piss for him all the time. Think the testing is a joke anyway, these guys want to risk their future to play for a big contract. It’s a choice they make. If they are going to allow Tyrek and Mixon in the league than this is nothing.
Even ignoring the stupidity of cheating over weed, of all the ways to cheat on a drug test, trying to bribe the tester is high on the list of the dumbest.

This. They should have assumed the worst case and he should have been suspended for that.
How the hell was he not suspended longer? It is absurd that he gets away with this.
Interesting.
You need players to make the product which feeds the beast.
I am sure Jerry has pull as well.
Yup.

"Yeah, talk about a boy scout."
