The cowboys cutting Jaylon is a sign of a team that admits mistakes and realizes when to walk away. Along those identical lines, the Giants need to get rid of 88.
I admit, I have defended Engram throughout his career…
…he’s a young player give it time
….look what he can do when they put the ball in his hands
…..he was better with Eli, because Jones is just developing
……he’s the only thing we have, every other pass catcher was unemployed last week
Excuses are all exhausted now
He:
Is afraid of his shadow
Can’t come up with plays when it matters
Creates turnovers
Most importantly, if he isn’t traded (hah) or cut by the deadline, then I am fully on board with flushing the whole crew. Judge, Getty…you name it. If they can’t see it then we’re already doomed to unending ineptitude while those decision makers are in charge.
I’ll stand behind anyone in this organization, as a fan, as long as there’s “still room behind you to stand”
Engram, meet wall. It’s over.
Moreover, two previous threads today on the same subject seem more than enough.

Don't discourage people from posting Engram bashing threads, please.
That’s a nice way to put it. At this point Travis Beckum was a better pick than Engram. Atleast the latter wasn’t clearing 70k per week to suck eggs all Sunday long.
He has his issues but he's still a good character guy who tries hard and you dont cut a guy mid season like that at a position you have questionable depth just to make a statement.
chill

also just wanted to add Smith got cut for being lazy, Engram is not lazy.
Cutting him would just be silly in my opinion.
Cutting Evan Engram in week 5 is an ignorant take.

Absolutely correct. Glad the poster isn't my GM.
Tell us more.
Let EE leave via FA and take the comp pick.
challenges the league every year in drops
average at best route running
catches less than 60% of his targets
can't block
The guy might bring a 7th? And I'd be happy to eat crow if they had a better offer on the table for a gadget player in the final year of his contract. I just don't see it.
Drops passes. Fumbles. Loses position. Falls. And the playcalling doesn't send him downfield.
Wish they woulda traded him when there was a rumor that at least a 3rd was on the table.
Smith wasn't cut because he is bad, he was cut by a team that has strength at the position as a future cap saving move. Cutting Engram doesn't generate cap savings and we are not strong at TE.
What attention? They put one guy on Engram, just like they put one guy on Smith or Rudolph. Maybe they cover Engram with a safety rather than a LB, but so what, it's not like they don't have enough safeties.
how the national media LOVES Engram far more than Giants do. Every Giants fan says he sucks. Yet every analyst always describes him as some dangerous weapon, even announcers during games (Vilma especially) gushes over him. Is there a reason why for the disconnect? My guess is that they don't watch all the games and simply watch highlights but shouldn't they do their homework?
Same with Smith, the national media talks about him in a positive light, causal fans think he's good and were shocked the Cowboys released yet Cowboys fans have been complaining about him for over 2 years now.
Travis Beckham was a better player? Are you judging this by his immortal 26 career receptions? Or is there something else we don't know about?
Pure idiocy.

Better pick, not player. Read more carefully next time, Spaulding
As disappointing as Engram's career has been thus far, he's exceeded Beckham's career totals in every season he's played.
Just dumb.

You are not qualified to suggest anything of the sort. You can have an opinion, and you can express it. That's where it ends. Leave the decision making up to the decision makers.

I bet he's better than David Gettleman.
I’ll take your advice.
On a final note, hopefully to conclude this pointless take of mine…
This post was heavily inspired by the consumption of multiple Heady Topper’s. In reality, the Engram experiment is over, I believe most agree. Is it wise to cut him? No. And I made no assertions that it would be a wise move. Just about every player can be cut for any reason, and I don’t believe future advantage or recourse should be a defining characteristic.
Engram has no future here, and he barely has an essential role. He causes more problems for his own offense than he creates problems for the opposing defense. This chapter should already be over.
Fortunately we only have 13 games at the most to dwell on this.
Ps. Engram is protecting his future career because he already knows there’s no contract waiting for him here. Hopefully the the coaches cut his snaps, justifiably, like they did Tomlinson last year.
Just dumb.
