We have only beaten them once (with Johnny M) since joining the SEC. We played them close a few times, got blown out a few too. It comes down to talent, Alabama has just too much talent, and too much depth.
It is frustrating that the college football winner(s) get the best talent, but Saban just reloads each year. We can expect him to coach for 5 more years perhaps. Yikes.
But Fisher has recruited well. The guys on the field are producing ('Trust the process.'), he has gotten some great talent just recently too. (Bryce Foster, true frosh, center.) The guys mentioned in this thread are all very good. One or two may be first rounders?
Sadly two uninspired losses derailed our season. The loss of our #1 qb hurt. Our #2 stepped in but struggled, did not play well, lack of pocket presence and running ability. Last night was a different story, he made some throws! O-line played much better too. Likely Alabama will still be in the playoff final four, along with Georgia...maybe those two in the final?
I was going to say the Right Tackle for A&M looked good down the stretch, then they said he was a Freshman. Have to keep an eye on him.
Kenyon Green is the guy we want to keep eye on. Definite top 10 pick if not top 5. Can play all line positions but has looks of an elite Guard and probably can play RT right away too.
As for Bama. I remain not as impressed with some of their talent. Not sure if pandemic year hurt the recruiting program a bit. They have some holes on their offensive line and at depth playmaking positions on both sides of the ball. Limited pass rush too.
