The season is pretty much over for the Giants, save for the games they will lose from here until January 9th, 2022. Looks like a cold, hard winter is a-coming. Maybe they'll pull out another 3 or 4 wins, or maybe they won't. That's why they play the games: to see how much further this franchise will sink into its own sink-hole.
If the season were to end today, the Giants would be picking 7th, which seems way too low for a bottom-of-the-barrel team. As for the Bears pick, who knows? So far, the Monsters of the Midway have had the temerity to win a few games, so it looks like they'll be drafting somewhere in the middle of Round One. Our luck, they'll make the playoffs and our Draft pick will sink to the bottom of Lake Michigan.
GBN has a Defensive Tackle out of Texas A& M at #7, DeMarvin Leal. Against Alabama this weekend he had 7 tackles, which brings his season total to 29 (along with 4.5 Sacks and 6.5 TFL). I didn't think DT would enter the discussion so early, but the Giants are now 29th in stopping the run, allowing 4.7 YPC.
Below is the link to GBN's latest Top 100 College Prospects. My gut tells me that -- had the Giants just followed GBN's Big Board over the past 9 years -- maybe our home team wouldn't be the laughing stock of the NFL. And, if nothing else, John Mara could have saved a whole lotta money on his scouting department.
Here is a breakout of the Top 100 College Prospects by position. Maybe the NFL will enact the "Pity Rule" and allow the Giants an extra pick in every round. Just so they can fill out their roster:
WR 14
CB 11
OT 11
DE 10
OLB 9
DT 8
OG 8
QB 8
ILB 6
S 6
C 3
RB 3
TE 3
42 Colleges have at least one player on the GBN Big Board, with a dozen teams having at least three, comprising nearly 60% of the entire list:
Alabama 9
Georgia 8
Ohio State 7
Penn State 6
Texas A& M 6
Iowa State 4
Oklahoma 4
Cincinnati 3
Florida 3
LSU 3
Notre Dame 3
Southern California 3

Can't come soon enough!
You want them to take a QB?
I like Corral, too, but I'm not sure he's a top twenty guy. His arm is plus, he can move, and he's the definition of gritty. But I think his body type is a concern.
Keep watching Willis. He's got a big tool box. He transferred out of Auburn to get more PT at Liberty. So you know he's a big time athlete to get recruited by an SEC power. Plus arm, plus movement, plus quickness, and a thicker body than a Corral.

If this team passes on Matt Corral to draft a defensive tackle that guy had better be Aaron Donald.

I’m with you on Malik Willis. His skill set is quite impressive!
Big strategic decision. And one where ownership would get involved, which means it will be not just a football decision but a political and marketing one. Awesome.

This. The clock is ticking on Jones showing he's a top QB. We are clearly in rebuild mode.
And if we pass on an edge rusher for a quarterback he’d better be Patrick Mahomes. You have a lot more faith in our defense than I certainly do.

My gut tells me they stay with Daniel Jones.
The one scenario I can see them moving on is a chain reaction that starts with Gettleman “retiring”; a new GM gets to choose his own Head Coach; and the new Head Coach wants a new offensive coordinator whose QB philosophy/ plans have nothing to do with Daniel Jones.
Sounds about right!
Some combo of Kayvon Thibodeaux, Kyle Hamilton, Derek Stingley, or Aidan Hutchinson is needed. Unfortunately, I should probably throw Linderbaum in their too.
I think Hamilton right now is the best player in the draft, too bad we've invested so much in the mediocre secondary.

Sorry meant OT or Edge.

Thomas has been good. There’s no need to take a RT top 5
The Chicago pick on the other hand? Again, beggars. :)

Didn’t realize that… good to hear!
BTW… your handle, Harvest Blend, reminds me of the great cup of Joe I had this morning! Just the kick-start I needed after that lovely game in Dallas!
The QB I like the most is Ridder from Cinci. I like his accuracy and his moxie. Kid is a winner. That being said, I don't see a superstar here.
I think better to punt on QB this year unless someone really emerges.

Ridder is a tricky one. His accuracy is all over the place. Very inconsistent. But he does have good size and a nice arm. And looks like a decent athlete. But I don't see a first round QB prospect. Looks more like a day two guy...

and the pick isn't the best OL or Tackle available, then they are beyond hope. This organization already made the mistake of settling for QB a year too early, don't do it again.

What?
If you believe you draft on potential than it's not a stretch at all to say Willis is more talented and has a bigger upside than Jones.
