I was really high on this kid after last season. He was grabby and got called for it, but he was seemed to be around the ball a ton. This season, he hasn’t seen much of the field. Seems he has been surpassed on the depth chart by Rondarious Williams.
Prime candidates for 2022: McKinney, Robinson, Ellerson Smith.
Nick Gates is literally the only example of a player (that I can think of) that was brought into the NYG system, showed the ability to play and then actually progressed rather than regress under the tutelage of the NYG coaching staff. Andrew Thomas seems to be on his way there as well.
BUT who else ya got?

essentially been benched the last 2 weeks. Against the Falcons they played Rodarius Williams in nickel sets over him (albeit on the boundary), and last week we saw Love exclusively in as the nickel corner against the Saints.
The Giants want to play more 2 high man coverage, and they likely view him as a liability there.
I do believe they like him, but feel he's better in zone. I hate the 2 high looks this year vs the cover 3 that worked so well last year...but this is what they want to do and Darnay doesn't fit.

The fans "built up"? More like our GM and the coaches.
Consider that. And then consider that after burning a dozen draft picks on various corners or safeties, until Peppers went down with an injury, the coaches did not trust a single one of those picks to start.... NONE OF THEM!
There have been a lot of complaints about Peppers and coverage, but so far he looks better than McKinney and Love.
