#AZCardinals TE Maxx Williams is feared to have suffered a major, season-ending knee injury on Sunday, source said. Williams, who has emerged as an important target for QB Kyler Murray, took a hard shot to his right knee and was quickly ruled out.

Always felt like the type of offense Evan Engram could thrive in. Giants have to be on the phone with Steve Keim today...
Maybe - depends on a weird formula. I'd trade him - takes salary off this season and guarantees a pick.
We obviously can't afford to exacerbate the drafting of a RB at #2 overall (when we could have had Josh Allen), by signing him to any sort of significant contract...especially given our cap position. And while I'm still on the fence on Daniel Jones, there's a chance you will have to give him a significant contract in the next 1-2 yrs which will result in substantially less cap allocation for the rest of the roster.
There is just no way you can bring Gettleman back so it's time to free up as many resources as possible.

I’d rather we let him walk and get a compensatory pick

We spent a ton of money this offseason. I don’t see us having a big free agency 2 years in a row.
Please take him. A 5th would be gravy! He needs a change in scenery away from the Giants. And the Giants need a change of scenery away from him.

Keep in mind, the compensatory pick would be for the 2023 draft, not 2022. So if someone offers a 5th rounder right now, that has to be more attractive than waiting a full extra year.
It would be hard to fathom. We finish the season against the Bears, Washington and Philly in some order - DG is probably hoping for a strong finish against weak competition to save his ass.
Shepard, Slayton and probably Golladay will be back, long before the trade deadline.
This is another reason to dump DG now. There is no way they can re-sign Engram - there is no cap room. Trade him, dump salary and get a pick.
What? You take the draft pick you can get now. Comp picks aren't guaranteed and honestly I think a team like the Cards might pay up knowing they are in the hunt for the SB!
Yeah, his best catch was in the 2nd quarter, IIRC..I did not see him drop a ball either
It’d be a 5th rd comp pick.
He actually looked good yesterday, when used; that might be a good selling point on a trade.
Yeah I agree the Giants need to make a determination what a comp bring would bring on Engram.
He's no way coming back to play for NYG on a new contract in 2022, so you either trade now or wait if the compensation could be better.
But why would anyone trade for him when they can sign him as an FA at the end of the season. Unless they lost their TE to injury this year.
Heck, depending on where our 2nd first rd pick is, I would be trading down 5-10 spots and grabbing an xtra 3 and 5 too
9 picks in top 150, purge the dead weight once again, I would give JJ one more yr with a new OC and maybe PG goes too
Graham lack of performance on D has totally blew his chance for HC this yr
I wanted the 2 3rd rd for grabbing a minority HC
Don’t see that happening
Besides, it appears this year will just end up being án evaluating year so why not use it for that- evaluate Engram, Jones, Barkley, Peppers….especially the guys who will be free agents.
