He was in for only half the plays!
. This is something: Toney had 10 receptions for 189 yards – the yardage is the most ever for a Giants rookie. Toney also took a direct snap and gained seven yards on a designed run and, threw one pass that was incomplete. All this production was stuffed into only 37 snaps – 54 percent of the offensive snaps for the Giants.
also thought this was a reasonable take on the punch incident:
1. Yup, Kadarius Toney made a mistake. He lost his cool and threw a punch midway through the fourth quarter. He was ejected, rightfully so. Coach Joe Judge was incensed, rightfully so. This is not good. But it is not an indictment on the rookie that some portray it to be. He took to Twitter early Monday morning to clear the air: “Wanna take the time out to apologize to the entire organization, Owners, My Teammates and the entire #BigBlue …your emotions just can get the best of you sometimes…..No Excuses just actions. #ThankYall.’’
The immediate outcry in some circles – that the punch was analogous to Toney being a bad seed and that a suspension is warranted – was over the top. Toney will be fined by the NFL, not suspended. Judge will use this as a teaching tool and is not going to take his most dynamic player off the field for a momentary lapse in judgment. Did you see the way Toney competed in this game? The way he fought for every yard? The way he, at times, refused to be tackled? The way he muscled for every inch? The talent is there. The passion is there. The will is there. The composure is not there. The Giants will work on this with Toney. It is early, and this is a first impression: The Giants need more players like Kadarius Toney on their roster.
some other good nuggets in here too
This is the ultimate downside of Daniel Jones - (
New Window )
189 passing
7 rushing
5-10 throwing
201-206 total yards
But the kid seems like he hates to lose & is doing all he can to help out the team. I wish the passion rubbed off on others, especially on those on the defensive side.
+1
Remarkable stats non the less.

I think it's 37 snaps which was 54% of all.

is 68% of the plays. Depends on packages, giving him a blow, resting the ankle...

AH, reading comprehension...I may be having sympathetic concussion symptoms with DJ.
Kinda sucks that I've been sick to my stomach every time he has touched the ball the last 2 games but I'll get over it..(I hope)
My guess is he'll be returning punts by week 14.
I loved the play that happened prior to the incident. The way he stopped on a dime, scooped the ball over the defender and stepped between 2/3 guys was awesome. To my eye he keeps his center of gravity low so hopefully that bodes well on the injury front.
Until the Giants get back some of these WRs, he is going to getting plenty of targets. And defenses are absolutely going to try and get under skin now.
Hope he learns to just go back to the huddle, but have a feeling that punch may not be the last of Mr. Toney's adventures this season.
Another thing I like is that he knows when to stop dancing and just go straight ahead. He's aware of the 1st down marker and getting + yards.
It doesn't change my opinion of Gettleman, but I have to admit that the Toney pick is looking awfully good at the moment.

Yes he does. Thomas looks like a good one too, and possibly Peart. I really thought Jones had turned the corner but who know now with the concussion. Unfortunately there have not been enough of these.
