By Ryan Wilson
I posted one of these in late September after the Falcons game, knowing it was way premature to do so.
With the giants now at 1-4 and clearly several steps behind the division leading Dallas Cowboys, maybe it's not so premature anymore. And, if nothing else, it's a lot more fun than watching 60 minutes of Giants football.
The problem for those interested in Mock Drafts is that it is no longer clear where the Giants should turn first. Many of us have been screaming for more talent along the offensive line as well as someone who can rush the passer.
But now we are faced with a Giants defense that looks highly deficient at all three levels. This unit can't stop the run, can't stop the pass; and can't rush the passer. Just a marvelous trifecta.
Perhaps the most interesting aspect of this Mock is that Ryan Wilson has the Giants selecting 10th (with their own pick). 10th? That implies ~6 wins, a total this storied franchise will not attain in 2021.
That said, I like what he is doing, with the Giants selecting Kenyon Green (OG Texas A& M) at #10 and then returning to the O-Line with the Bears pick (at #16), selecting Tyler Linderbaum (Center Iowa).
If there is a silver lining in all the Mock Drafts to come, it is that a brand new General Manager will be calling the shots for the Giants when the actual selections begin on April 28th, 2022.

This organization is completely broken.
The Giants have to be at a crossroads regarding how to rush the passer. They've drafted guys like Lorenzo Carter, Oshane Ximines and Azeez Ojulari. The first two seem like they can neither rush the passer, nor hold the edge. The jury is still out on Ojulari, but so far he's going through a rough period trying to set the edge.
We need some other solution. Maybe back to a 4-3 with two legitimnate pass rushing DEs who are big enough to prevent teams from running wide?
They need another OL or two but the defense is worse than the offense now
Unless we can grab Thibodeaux, who I think is overrated, this looks to be a very quiet draft for pass rushers.
BTW, how the hell is Malik Willis not a first rounder? And how the hell is Carson Strong one?

I agree
I also think Carson Strong will wind up to be first QB off the board and Sy will have him as top QB

You like him that much? He looks okay, but I don't see top ten talent at all.

I don't see any top 10 QBs at the moment, but as we've consistently seen in recent drafts, QBs get pushed up boards out of need/desperation.
I'm also expecting Chicago to go on a losing streak. Cross your fingers
I suspect we'll end up somewhere like 3 and 16-18.
Gotta have something to root for this season. :)
