...Philly really abused him, and while he was easy to root against playing there, I'm finding myself interested in his "comeback".
Kid has a ton of talent.
I think they should have gone for Stafford but understand why they didn't want to pay that cost. I think Wentz was the best risk/reward for them. If he gets back to what he was, they're top tier contenders.
instead of barkeley. that would have been a good eli draft pic.

yea but for all the talk about how it was a pick to help eli ; that would have been the pick to do it. Yet the same people didn't want Darnold or Josh so go figure. I guess some people just got sick of Eli and wanted to whine
They should have managed the clock better here and left less time.
But if you miss the 2 pt conversion you need time for your own team to drive down and score.
Your only play is to force overtime.
Bah, you only have about a 50% chance of making the 2 point conversion and then a 50% chance of winning in overtime. You don't need to guarantee a loss with a missed 2 point conversion (not that onside kicks are apt to be successful). And you need your defense to step up if you do make the conversion. The Ravens D has not stepped up. You score a touchdown when you can.
Just catching up now... Jackson overrated his way to 3 TDs and almost 400 yards on 31-37 passing? Good God.
If Jones had this game they’d be creaming themselves.
How in the world is Lamar overrated?
Considering folks here are already comparing Kadarius Toney to Antonio Brown, after only a good game and a half, I think if we had LJax and all his magic and MVP, he would already be anointed the greatest to ever play.

How incredibly entertaining was that? I was sitting there at 22-3 in the 4th quarter and I just thought “this is far from over.” Lamar is one of those guys who you just feel can come back from literally anything.
I also had Mark Andrew’s in fantasy lol that was nice. 2 TDs and 2 2 pointers in the 4th plus a bunch of yards between the 4th and OT.
he has a bad hip they said. Tough position to be in. He hit a 42 yarder earlier but he's clearly not right.
They needed to get him closer. That 2 yard run up the gut made no sense to me. Throw a quick 10 yarder and call the time if needed. The whole field was open and you're moving the ball nicely. Not sure how a dive for 2 yards helped him. 49 to 47 yards? BFD. Try to get the guy 10 yards.
Lamar does in the regular season. Against bad team missing 4 starters in the secondary.
Not a guy in the playoffs you want.
He’s 24 years old. I still just think it’s WAY too early in his career to just label him “not a guy in the playoffs you want.” So many guys in history have been “the guy who will never get it done in the playoffs”… until they DO get it done. But to me it’s even more ridiculous this kid already has that label and he hasn’t even turned 25 yet. Give the kid a break. He went to great lengths to improve his pocket passing this past offseason because he said he KNEW he had to get better at that to be able to make a deep playoff run… and his hard work has clearly shown the first 5 weeks of this season. Can we maybe see how things go the next couple years before saying he’s doomed to be a playoff loser?
Why does everyone want to be so quick to write this kid off? So much criticism of his passing game as though he isn’t a 24 year old QB. You can see the greatness is there— not only does he put up amazing numbers, he puts up WINS. Most winningest QB in the NFL since the week he took over (highest winning %). And btw the Ravens record the few years prior to that was NOT great, despite the fact people want to believe he just inherited a winning playoff team when he took over— he didn’t. He’s vastly improved their winning % since he took over, which is why Harbaugh has committed to building the team around him.
The eye test says he’s great, the numbers say he’s great, the W/L record says he’s great. So he’s 1-3 in the playoffs. Eli lost his first 2 playoff games too and didn’t look too hot. That’s how it goes with many young QBs— the playoffs are a different animal. Lamar looked like a deer in headlights his first playoff game, then looked better the following year, and then the following year he WON a playoff game. This year he’s improved his pocket passing. It looks like a upward trajectory to me.
24 years old. So many young QBs struggle in their early playoff games. But it seems because his style is unorthodox, his lack of success in the playoffs is magnified and it makes people think “his style of play will never be successful in the playoffs therefore he’s doomed to be a loser” as opposed to just figuring hey this guy has the makings of something great and maybe (just maybe) he was a young QB taking his lumps in his first few playoff appearances.

Because lamar isn't the first mobile qb and that style of playing isn't usually conducive to wins in post season games.Just that simple.
...but maybe this horrible start means the Colts will be more prone to shutting Wentz down if he gets hurt, thereby saving their 1st round pick from going to the Eagles/

I don't think the colts are that bad. And one of the broadcasters said when he was talking to Reich that he was already talking about teams in the post season with a similar record. They didn't really look like a 1-4 team.

The Colts in the 4th quarter looked exactly like the Giants. Their defense was exhausted and unable to stop a determined offense on a better team. Instead of sending a blitzer to attack Lamar, they had the DLine try to keep Lamar in the pocket and drop 7 into coverage, but gave him 6-8 seconds to find a receiver. It was a slow death.
starting Jackson, Brown and Andrews. All 3 were unstoppable in that second half. Ravens with all those injuries and they still keep bringing it each week.
Impressive comeback and entertaining game to watch. Seems as if there have been some decent non-Sunday games this season so far.

He’s what the third of his kind? Vick, RG3, Lamar? Small sample size.
poorly coached game this season.. Both coaches should use this game as a learning lesson. Reich needed to be aggresive up one score and your kicker is hurt, why play for the ffield goal and your D was gassed.
Harbaugh one of my favorites got bailed out by some Lamar magic. and a stupid stupid throw by Wentz in the red zone. The even called the wrong D formation in the red zone.. lol
Gruden getting Fired/resigned total political hit job.. Woke NFL is just stupid.
Because lamar isn't the first mobile qb and that style of playing isn't usually conducive to wins in post season games.Just that simple.
I say the same sort of thing to my friends every year during the playoffs -- "Do you have any idea how many quarterbacks who throw the football a lot have lost playoff games? Why should that guy be any different?!"

Aside from the obvious small sample size point another poster mentioned…. Take his running out of the equation for a moment then. Last night he was first QB to throw for over 400 yards while completing 85% of his passes. He conducted that comeback FROM THE POCKET. The problem the first 3 years was Lamar couldn’t throw his team back into a game like this hence they always had to play with a lead to win. Now that’s no longer the case. Have you watched him the first 5 weeks of the season? All of a sudden he’s one of the best pocket passers in the league. Now add onto that the fact that he is one of the fastest most electrifying runners in the league at ANY position. At this point in his career he can beat you either way. It’s not like Vick who just never seemed to feel 100% comfortable staying in the pocket. Lamar is staying in the pocket, staying patient, and delivering the ball well. He’s not immediately looking to run anymore. Shocking that a 24 year old player is still developing his game.
Nope, but Colts still blowing Baltimore off the ball.
no, that's not possible. QBs can't ever overcome pressure.
bad take, they're good

hmmm no quinton nelson ...yet here he is up 7-0 marching his team down field

Sure it is, Daniel does it often.
Guys on other team get injured too? Who'd a thunk it?

No it only happens to the Giants. And only Giants receivers drop balls. And the refs are against the Giants.

I don't think ALL refs are against the Giants. Just the ones that Jerry Jones pays off at AT&T.
What the fuck does that have to do with a Ravens-Colts game thread idiot?
Kid has a ton of talent.
I have no desire at all to want respect from you..LOL

Lateral is a reviewable play.
Agreed. Again, at a minimum, it was too close to call.
lol
They execute as well. That is what good teams do!
yea for all this record says you are talk -- they look pretty good.

Weird game to pine for nelson considering hes on IR and not playing tonight
yeah - 89 Andrews is good
Their offense looks so easy though, I have to say that.
A ton of pitch and catch throws, for big yards.
On any given Sunday....

yea that's what I mean. I may have phrased it poorly. great backs, good blocking and Wentz looks sharp.
I guess it’s the stupid Ravens

They are. But LJax is such a unicorn and so unorthodox. We have never seen anything like him...
I agree. He is so good and so incompetent at the same time. You never know when each will appear.
Andrews has just killed the Colts.

There are a lot of MVP candidates right now. And LJax is right in that conversation.

What a devastating loss for the Colts. Wentz played like it was 2016.
I'd like to be a fly on the wall of the Colts version of BBI about now
It's likely just as pleasant and rational as this place is after a loss lol
