I know we need to react to the losing….but we are closer….so tearing things down makes little sense.
Mara and DG are easy targets…..and I am certainly not here to defend anyone…but thought a simple NFC East comparison would be interesting
The Owners….Jones, Snyder, Lurie and Mara. I can not imagine anyone preferring Jones or Snyder and Lurie recent news seems troublesome. Not sure what anyone expect from the owners but Mara looks good in comparison. Outside of getting duped in coaching interviews….not sure what else is so bad.
The GMs….Jones, Mayhew, Roseman and DG. Winning matters…..so Roseman gets the nod as he has been only one at the helm that has won. Winning Super Bowls matter.
but can you just imagine if the owner was the GM in NY. Now….someone, will say, they had some great drafts…..but keep in mind….the last time Dallas has won a Super Bowl, 1996…..That would mean my kids would never have seen, nor experienced 1….let alone 2 Super Bowls Victories. Hell, the Giants have been in 3 Super Bowls while Dallas hasn’t sniffed one.
My view of DG is that he is tied to Daniel….if Daniel delivers a Super Bowl…..All would be forgiven…much like Accorsi and Young.
but I doubt the Giants will be making drastic changes, even if DG retires. I really do not like discussing mgt crap…..and I certainly am not in the mood to compare the coaches, as I am far more pissed at them....than anyone else.
How does this team become a winner?
I strongly feel these coaches have held back the team this year…..not putting the players in the best position to be successful, not playing complimentary football…..ultra conservative while the other coaches had the pedal to the metal, pulling out all the stops…
JJ game time decisions are concerning…..it's very frustrating, but we can not clean house again.
I hope they learn from it and gain some wisdom……3-2 would feel better then 1-4…..but the next few weeks will be painful to watch no matter what they do, with so many injuries. I sure hope our coaches are not frauds.
One thing is for sure…….Everyone on this team needs to learn how to win.
I thought I knew what we had…..but the defense playing as bad as it has…..has truly surprised me. I do not understand why we are keeping more people in coverage and less people rushing the passer.
The OL has actually played better than I expected, especially after losing Gates. I hope Peart last week wasn’t a mirage….and our future bookend Tackles are secure.
Again, Losing Gates is sad. Wondering if he would have gotten hurt if he stayed at Center? Will he ever play again? what a shame...A ton of moving parts with the interior OL…..I have no idea if any are keepers……I sure hope we get lucky…..as good luck is needed badly.
I am one of those that believe we are in a 10 year curse……and this year has re-enforced that belief. 😊
The Giants must develop a dependable running game and the OL must create holes…..especially in the red zone. I like what I see from the passing game. I expected good things from Toney….not sure why it took an injury to see it on the field.
The TEs must be replaced with 2-way studs. Trade Engram if possible, even for a bag of donuts.
I know a monster edge is needed badly…..I would like to see Carter Coughlin as an inside LBer….as Ragland and Crowder have been exposed without Blake, the only true tackler on the team.
Would like to see Aaron Robinson, if his addition changes their game plan……as of right now, its not working.
Dumbfounded how bad the secondary is playing. Soft coverage is not their strength but has been a staple.
Graham moniker has gone to his head…..stop tinkering. We must put more presser on the passer and start with tight coverage…….the Giants are doing the opposite for some unknown reason.
You know, I wouldn’t mind losing…..if the team Judge promised was on the field. Its not…..We are being pushed around and abused. I truly thought, the Giants “D” was back.
The coaches are doing the opposite of complimentary football…
The offense starts every game expecting to be in a defensive struggle. It really is maddening.
Hoping for a better 2022!.......I know what they say about doing the same and expecting different results.
Putting my money on the end of the 10 Year curse
IMO- it's a players league. Similar to the NBA. Coaches can only do so much. Players have good seasons, then drop off all the time in the NFL. So many "What ever happened to that guy?" players have come and gone.
We need good players. Good long-term players. We desperately need to stop overvaluing our players and hope then can play well (or just stay healthy) and get real NFL talent.
All starts with getting the right GM.
Thomas is secure. Peart is still a huge question.
Can you point to one player on the D that is a star that you would not trade today? Before the season I could point to Bradberry and Martinez. But now? And we have over 70M in contracts hitting the books on D next year.
On offense, who would you not trade? DJ, Thomas and our new toy Toney. Who else?
We are far away. And I don't buy into the old school hard nosed special teams coach. He hasn't proven he can coach yet.
Our new GM should only come onboard with the ability to fire/hire whoever he wants in the front office, scouting, cap management and coaching staff.
Thomas is secure. Peart is still a huge question.
Yes, I agree with you on Peart. People envisioned him as having the physical tools to be a good RT once he improved his technique. Some here even hinted he maybe a better LT than Thomas because of quick feet. Now is the time to let him play and see if he has it to be the RT going forward.
But I will say that Sale and friends seem to be doing a better job with the line than previous coaches. Not much material to work with, but they are semi-functional
This team needs edge rushers, until that happens they are not close
I think he is correct in this view well known for a very long time. These type of teams win divisions and Super Bowls.
The issue is the team is doing very little of this with consistent success. Is he the only reason why? I do not believe so but this is where they are.
The difficult thing is assessing the reasons why. Nobody knows for sure how they are truly operating in assembling the team despite peoples very strong opinions on the matter.
From a talent perspective this team thus far had enough to be at least 2-3 and probably 3-2 with everything in still in front of them imv.
I think he has let his son take a more active role and is not as involved. Jerry is a football guy though. He is a former OL on a NC team so it is not like he does not understand the game and I don't think it is coincidence that they have built some outstanding lines since he has owned the team.
Peart must show alot more....
I think you would agree Thomas has shown enough....at least, I feel good with Thomas at LT.
Peart at this point is wishful thinking.....he must show it for balance of season.
We can debate about getting good football people.....but seems to do everything else.
Wellington was a great guy as he made the NFL...as he could easily made it into the MLB.....but was also a son.....not sure how active he was...with last Super Bowl....i just do not view the owners the problem.
Dallas have had horrible playoff losses.....massive implosion...and that would be in their good years.
Thanks for giving me a laugh.
Probably most decisions were group efforts....as the Giants rarely make unilateral decisions...
Like I said...if Jones wins us a Super Bowl....all would be forgiven. DG legacy is tied to Daniel Jones, for me. I suspect Shummer had some say as well.
I feel our talent level is better and younger than it was 4 years ago, but its really irrelevant if the losing continues.
The coaches have shown that they need to learn how to win as much as the players do....
Peart must show alot more....

Okay --misunderstood. Sorry.

Is it unreasonable that someone that played the position on a team that won a NC does not count for anything? I think he values the importance of a good OL and for a good part of his time in Dallas they have had one. You can get on Jerry for a lot of things but to say he does not understand football is reaching.

Front 7 on defense is a disaster. Probably not one guy in that bunch that would start on 90% of the teams in the league. And it gets no better on Offense with pretty much the same ratio. How is that even possible?
Like I said...if Jones wins us a Super Bowl....all would be forgiven. DG legacy is tied to Daniel Jones, for me. I suspect Shummer had some say as well.

It's not the GMs job to only find a QB.. if that was the case we would've won 12-15 as well.. we won the SBs because in Jan and Feb 2008 we had the best OL and DL in the league.. DG could be judged on how the overall roster does not just Jones..
Last season before DG we were 3-13.. if people say that all we need for DG is to have better talent than that, then we are screwed.. and there is no way he could fail..
I’m afraid there is no end in sight. Welcome to the Wilderness years- redux
Chris goes to the Kentucky derby....while the real football do their thing.
President, CEO sure....they own the club....
I have a major concern with Jones’ durability.
I think the Giants will hire a young GM from another organization to work with Judge and ultimately probably outlast Judge.
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?
