The Giants are awful and now riddled with injuries. The Rangers have had a disappointing offseason and now have pushed Kravstov into asking for a trade. And now the Yankees are going to retain the incompetent clown Boone.
The Knicks are the best-run of my favorite teams now. I can't believe I just typed that.

There were reports either way about Girardi and it was the, at the time, relative unknown Twitter user Jomboy who broke the story about them not reupping him

if Cashman and the whole approach/philosophy don’t go, than changes managers does nothing.
He's not THE problem. THE problem is flawed roster building for sure. But he's A problem. And importantly, he's one of the first offseason decisions the Org needs to make so we can guess a lot of what might happen in the offseason when they make this call.
Yankees are one good owner away from being a good team.

What’s the point if Cashman isn’t gone? Then you are just making a new hire with the old system and will have to do that all over again whenever you do fire Cashman.
Like so many other things from ESPN it sounds like their source is the men’s room attendant. Hal ‘likes’ Boone ? Of course he likes him. He’s a nice guy. But Hal is also a business man who has to sell seats and season tickets, neither of which sold as well as they did in years past. It should be obvious to Hal that Boone is a lot of the problem here, but even if it’s not, Hal can’t say “fuck you” to the fan base. These are the Yankees, not the Mets or the Giants. They need to do something concrete to show that they are contending for a championship next year or they’re going to be looking at a lot of empty seats.
Just the way Boone handle pitching alone costs them games
Game one of the Rays series, in a tight game, he has German pitch the 8th. Then when he runs into trouble in the 9th, Boone has Albert Abreu come in. Abreu predictably blows the game.
the reason why the Yanks fail in the playoffs now and going forward is because of Boone?
Really. Not because Cole shit the bed (injury) or because half the team was either hurt or ineffective all year? Boone screwed up DJLM this year? He screwed up Torrez? Chapman would have done better this year with another manager calling the shots? I take it Boone ruined that slob left handed relief pitcher that hasn't thrown a big quality pitch in so long I cannot even remember his name...
I don't know...sorry I just don't buy that Boone ruined this season. I think he kept the team together if anything.
The infield for most of the year was BAD because the players aren't good at fielding. The BP COLLAPSED halfway through the season but did Boone panic? Or did he work with these guys and get every ounce out of the pitchers? Think that one through and then tell me with a straight face that Boone wrecked the BP this season.
Two hitters worth anything all year--Stanton and Judge. And I was told both guys weren't in the Yanks long term plans or shouldn't have been. Now I am told it's all Boone's fault. You guys need to convince me, sorry.
was basically improved upon by September. They fielded better. They ran the bases better and one guy caught at home in the WC game doesn't change that.
They lost the WC game because they didn't hit and Cole fell apart. Is that on Boone?
Cashman does his job every season. If you want to wack him because the Yanks haven't won a WS title, I guess that's a decision one can make, but I'd be careful.
Boone isn't the problem. Our big game players are. And we aint getting rid of them either. What can Boone do that allows these guys to hit in a deciding game? I am seriously asking, not arguing.
Was run out of philly, goes to S.f. And has the team with the best record in MLB. Managers don’t mean shit. Everyone who wants Boone gone, thinks 5e next manager is going to be any different. They are all puppets to the GM.
The only thing I can say, is with Cashman still here

+1. Managers don’t mean anything. It’s the GM and analytic department dictating in games moves. It’s all pre determined. How fans still think boone is actively managing is hilarious. The issue with this roster is an old unathletic roster with poor defense and injuries. We need to find a SS and all of a sudden the roster looks different. Also hard to go into the season with hicks as your CF and gio as your starting 3B

Managers don't mean shit? Have not seen one GM run down there and make a pitching change or call a player from the pen.
Yes the GM can send a starting lineup(I doubt they do) but after that he is not on the phone calling the shots.
You have a problem with Urshela at 3rd? Guy was hurt all year and still played better defense then the rest of the team and most other 3rd basemen.

I'm not sure you can make any judgments based on ticket sales, considering there were capacity restrictions in place for part of the season.

There were no capacity restrictions for the last series against Tampa Bay. The team was coming off a good six games against Boston and Toronto, everything was on the line in the Tampa Bay series and there were still empty seats. Two years ago they could sell out a game against Kansas City. If I'm the guy writing the checks, this would scare the piss out of me.

And they are due for regression this year.
This also means Cashman is safe.
+1.
That information could have been included in the thread title.

They are already a good team. You don't win 92 games if you are a bad team.
They are just not good enough.
